Maguire to Man Utd / Man City

This is true and Harry's ability on the ball seems to be an afterthought for some people on here.  It's what every team wants and it is very rare in centre halves, which is why he is in such demand.

If we think of Dunk as a replacement, well Harry can do what Dunk does, but Dunk cannot do what Harry does.  Our team will be severely weakened if he goes.

£80m or fck off United and Man City.

Dunk can defend?

Harsh on Harry.

He's twice the player that Dunk is that's why he's ahead of him in the England set up.

He’s twice the footballer, not sure he’s twice the defender. Anyway I agree with the point that Maguire’s footballing skills make him very attractive to the top clubs and we should therefore be commensurated accordingly.

am i the only one who thinks alongside evans soyenchu would replace harry

hes had limited game time but he can pass the ball and bring it out and hes quicker than maguire .

he just needs game time for me

If Harry does go, I would like to see him given his chance.  He just needs to learn to be a little less impetuous at times.

You would expect that to be the pairing, now that Benkovitch is injured again.

a lot will depend on how he performs in pre season.

I'd like us to sign Shane Duffy from Brighton. Very much in the Maguire mould, but a better headed of the ball, is quicker and is now sensing danger better. More goals in him too.

I'd say he's the reason Brighton stayed up last season.

Shame Duffey isn’t in the Maguire mould what so ever. Granted he wins everything in the air but I’d put him in the huth catorgary, we need a ball playing Cb along side Evans.

He'd never leave Westlife to come to us

Weren’t we after him on loan from Everton when we were in the Championship?

I'd say Evans is a very good passer of the ball.

I agree.  He doesn't have Harry's dambuster bombing runs in him, but in some ways that makes him a better CB.

Yes, I think we were, but he's come on a ton since this days. He's not afraid to put his body where it hurts if needed.  You can't buy that kind of bravery.

But his understanding and reading of the game has improved immensely since coming into the premiership.

He's also won several more awards for Brighton. Plus he scores key goals as defenders struggle to handle him.

I believe Rogers could polish him into the complete CB.

Someone has to stay back and defend when the other pushes forward.

Once Soyuncu learns to stop lunging into tackles he will be a great defender.
