We are so easy to bowl against, they literally know every one of our batsmen's weakness and our lot still continue to fall for it time and time again...brainless!

Whats going to be the minimum needed to be competitive then?  280?

And how do you approach trying to win the game having lost a day?

Not sure what the forecast is for London tomorrow but it’s supposed to be horrendous here, take a draw from this if we lose tomorrow to the rain and take them up north and try again there.

Rain from 2pmish, then set in all day. They must be slightly miffed they’ve let our lower order score another 120+ runs.

So worst case scenario is Australia bat till it rains tomorrow, then bat all day Saturday leaving Sunday to bowl us out.

For England to win now considering the forecast we will have to bowl them out very cheaply.

Competitive total that I think.

Huge part of the match coming up, we could do with knocking two over tonight.

Problem with Bairstow batting at 7 is if he does get in he gets left with the tail.

Not the best score obviously but enough to think there is a chance. Goes without saying we'll need wickets early and Smith to fail.

Not sure I’d want to chase many on this, already turning off the deck. If Australia post 400 plus, could be curtains, on the flip side if we can eek out a lead of 150-180, it would make Sunday v interesting.

And let Bairstow open

I know we are excited about Archer but giving him the new ball over a bowler who averages 9 here???

I'm still not over Woakes only bowling a few overs at his home ground too - whilst Denly and Root were bowling for eternity.

This match reminds me of the wonderfully oracular thing Richie Benaud used to say.

"The hallmark of a great captain is the ability to win the toss at the correct time"

I'd have still started with Woakes this morning.

Genuinely bemusing a bowler with an average of nine at this ground isn't opening the bowling.

So much muddled thinking in our dressing room.
