Bowling straight works for everyone else, but he's a freak of eye/hand coordination and it's his strength, he doesn't miss, so at least stop bowling to his strengths.
David Guiza Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 What do we think is a reasonable total for us to chase? Most seem to be saying it's a great batting pitch. Hopefully Smith will run out of partners again soon. (yes anything above 67 is dangerous)
TiffToff88 Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 I wish they'd stop showing a close up of Bairstow crouching down behind the wicket. Looks like he's concealing a cricket ball down his pants!

RowlattsFox Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Need to restrict them to 350 or less really, then at the very least have to match it. If they get towards and past 400 we will be under massive pressure and history tells us that usually means all out for less than 100. I don't remember the last time England responded to a big first innings total with one of their own.
Guest MattP Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Smith is unbelievable, already seems to have worked out Archer and the others don't trouble him anyway.
kingcarr21 Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Smith is just super human. Literally carrying Australia through the Ashes.
David Guiza Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 At least Roy is scoring well to counter for his dropped catch
ealingfox Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Smith basically doing what Cook did Down Under in 2011.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Yeah, I don't think we're going to win this. I've got absolutely 0 confidence in our batters except Stokes.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 You've got to be joking, jesus christ...
EastAnglianFox Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Absolute amateur hour....it is due to be a wash out tomorrow right?....please
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 15 minutes ago, EastAnglianFox said: Absolute amateur hour....it is due to be a wash out tomorrow right?....please Suppose to be some rain, which is the only saving grace. But I think if they get 400 they could quite conceivable take all 20 wickets without having to pick the bat up again. barring and absolute skittling soon including Smith sooner rather than later they will be in an utterly dominant position quite soon.
deejdeej Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Yeah... draw might well be our best chance here, Smith has been utterly ridiculous this series, never known a sportsman to be SO consistent.
EastAnglianFox Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Stokes now off injured.....imagine if we scrape through to the last test at 1-1.....absolute shithousery at its finest!!
Bobby Hundreds Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Turning one of the most exciting 95mph express pace bowlers in a generation to a 84mph fast-medium county bowler in 3 test matches is some achievement.
ScouseFox Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 yeah where’s all this fu cking rain, it’s in manchester ffs it always rains.
David Guiza Posted 5 September 2019 Posted 5 September 2019 Did anybody else see the stat on TMS that Grace Road has the most rain in September out of the entire County Championship? I think it was measuring losing the most overs, so that may also be down to us being all out for 36. Old Trafford was second I believe.
