Simpson - Leaving

Great defender. Got dizzy when he got past the half way line though. Master at back post defending. Solid moment of trolling that cvnt Carragher.

Simpson benefited from us as his career was going nowhere until we picked him up,  we benefited from him as well.

Did exactly what we needed him to. Good lesson for all of us about ignoring the media portrayal of a player. He seemed so committed and dedicated to our club and had games where he was an absolute brick wall when we won the title. Our game has evolved and we´re lucky to have the best RB I reckon we´ve ever had at the moment - but Simmo is surely a close second. Good luck to him!

His instagram feed does that for me.

One of those players I never liked prior to signing for us. But he totally made me eat my words. Turned into one of our most consistent players, solid, and one of my favourite LCFC players. Wish him nothing but the best. Thanks for the memories.

To be fair it wasn't the media who throttled their Mrs.

Thanks for the great service to the club over the years Danny boy, I guess at the end of the season after the summer you won't be right back.

I reckon Leeds United are a good bet. Just their type of player.

Yeah, can see Bielsa’s high pressing and ultra attacking 3313 suiting Danny down to ground

Which game was it where he missed a sitter lol ? I think he was our only outfielder not to score in 16/17 (?) or something like that

Sheffield United, who are so attacking their centre backs overlap? Maybe not

Or they could decide it might be useful to have a plan B, seeing as playing it's a totally different league. Fulham could probably have done with a few more defensive minded players after playing nice attacking football in the championship and getting whooped in the prem.

Absolutely no chance Bielsa would renege on his principles to sign Danny ****ing Simpson lol

It took us 8/9 games to work out that attacking full backs aren’t necessarily the best way to win games of football back in 2015.

Southampton? I recall Forster getting his body in the way of one.

They won't be getting promoted anyway, so he can stick to his principles in the cahmpionship ;)

I don't see Bielsa doing that at all tbh. He will either

A: Gloriously go down in flames implementing an ultra attacking system or

B: Gloriously succeed implementing an ultra attacking system

As for Wilder, he seems like a wily character, and I don't doubt that Sheffield United will be a lot more defensively focussed in the Premier League. However. Fullbacks that offer something in attack are very integral to the modern approach to football, and Wilder certainly seems to have a very forward-looking style.

In a 3 at the back system, however, your fullbacks kind of need to attack.

If Sheffield United want to stay in this division, they'll need to learn very quickly that you need to be able to keep clean sheets.
