Probably all known this for a while but seems he's confirmed it on his Instagram story.

Another title winner departs.

Link pls? I dont do instagram really.

Although pretty expected since his contract is out in the summer.

I wonder where he'll go. He's more than capable of playing for a top championship side but I do get fascinated with the English players playing in America. It almost revives them and turns them into world beaters!

Easily could play for a newly promoted premier league team

He’s just put a photo up on his “story” saying it’s his last players awards dinner. I’ll be sad to see Simpson go. I was both sceptical of him as a player and a human being when came from QPR but he 100% proved me wrong.

At his peak for us you could have put your mortgage on him being consistently solid week in week out. I can’t remember him having many what you would call bad games for us at all really. Seems like he’s sorted his own issues out after all that nasty business with his ex Mrs as well, so my hat is tipped to him.

Good luck Simmo

Would be perfectly suited to a newly promoted team that's looking strengthen their back four. As a defender I can't fault him, he's super consistent. Just offers nothing going forwards unfortunately!

Yep.

One of the legends who never let us down.

I wonder where he will go. Upper/middle Championship? Sheffield Wednesday type clubs? He will not be a starter for any PL club.

Had a rough start but managed to turn his Leicester career around.

Excellent in the title winning season and excellent in the season after which I don't think he gets enough credit for.

16/17 was poor but Simmo and Kasper were our two most consistent performers in that season.

Good luck to him, hopefully another Prem team picks him up because he can still do a job in this division.

Ricardo's brilliance in attack meant it was end game for Simpson. It showed up his limitations but his defensive work over 2 seasons or so was outstanding.

We got a very good return on him. Championship level probably where he is at but he should do fine wherever he goes.

Could definitely see someone like Sheffield United having him.

 Not with their formation no.

I'm talking club size/looking to build for the Premier League.

Them, Burnley, Brighton, WBA, Villa, Derby etc

Wish him all the best, it will always be a sad moment... for me anyway, when any one of the 2015/16 'legends' leave.

Good luck Danny, where-ever the path may lead you. Totally the right time, but you will never be forgotten.

There was one moment which just epitomised his career here for me. Think it might have been the year we won the title and the opponents were through on goal, looked a certain goal and he ran back 50 metres or so to eventually block the shot with his thigh and saved a certain goal. Got a huge cheer. Forget the opposition though.

Wholehearted trier and very decent defender. Good value purchase.

Hope he finds a good move he could do a decent spell at a newly promoted team.

One of those players I never liked prior to signing for us. But he totally made me eat my words. Turned into one of our most consistent players, solid, and one of my favourite LCFC players. Wish him nothing but the best. Thanks for the memories.

To take inspiration from another thread... signings you were non plussed about but turned out to be great! Thanks for being part of the side that made our dreams reality Simmo, best of luck wherever you go
