"Pensioners aged 90 and over are being admitted to hospital after taking cocaine as treatment for drug-related mental health disorders also soars among the over sixties, the latest NHS figures reveal.

Ten elderly patients were hospitalised after using the class A drug last year, compared to just two a decade ago, the NHS Digital report on hospitals in England revealed.

And among those aged 60 and over the number admitted has octupled in the last ten years from 48 ten years ago to 379 people last year".

I worry about the older generation.....

Incredible isn't it.

Imagine if it were Corbyn.

Or if labour were devoting their time early on in the short campaign period to attacking the Tory's spending plans by just making numbers up because they've not been released yet.  Or if Corbyn suppressed a report on foreign interference.  Until our Tory fanboys learn to be critical of politicians with blue rosettes this country's fvcked.

On the list of bad ideas, this is somewhere between the original Sonic movie trailer and releasing Thalidomide into the public without detailed oversight testing. Seriously, don't bloody do it.

"Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, who were both appointed by Mr Trump, asked questions on Tuesday that were interpreted by observers as well-disposed towards the president's position."

Well, yes - that's what they were put there for.

Day 1 of the public hearings...of course the fact remains that even if the House goes for it the Senate won't vote to convict from now until Judgement Day, but it will be interesting to watch.

Dems know that of course, the question is whether Trump being impeached moves the needle in the election.

That is of course the big question, but it's also one that is pretty much impossible to answer with certainty or even probability right now.

He's right on two points:

- ideology doesn't mean anything unless you get the power needed to apply it, and in a democracy that means you need at least a fair few people agreeing with you.

- there's no point in completely breaking the system without a plan otherwise all you're going to get is a barbaric contest to see who will be king of the ashes.
