The 2010 decade will end in a few months. What will you mostly remember this decade for?

Leicester winning the league just can’t be topped. Absolutely ****ing incredible, occasionally I will just spend a night watching highlights from that season to confirm that it happened.

Away from that I grew up and bought a house got a solid girlfriend and a dog called Nigel (named after our best ever manager)

Tell you what it won't be remembered for. Music. I Feel sorry for the generation that's grown up since the turn of the century, what genre of music can they actually identify themselves with. Miley fvckin Cyrus and Lady Gaga, whoop a di do.

Both make bloody good pop music, bad examples tbh

It’s not about how good they are or the fact both are just rehash of Madonna, it’s about  generations identifying themselves to where they come from and sadly music seemed to end in about 2000. The sex pistols were pretty crap as musicians but i bet there’s an awful lot of people who came from that era that still identify themselves with punk.

Actually, without being pedantic it won’t, a common misconception, but one that does irk me.

As there was no Year 0, and a decade being 10 years - the decade doesn’t end until the fireworks arrive at the end of 2020.

So we have a year and a few months of this decade still to go.

Realising I live in a state media controlled country, it’s like a little North Korea.

The eruption of YouTube media is a good leveller. Granted there are lots of toxic garbage on YouTube passibg for "news" and "information" but i think overall the freedom from mainstream media is an important development of the 2010s. Nobody under 25 watches BBC or CNN for their news.

Ignorance has become more of a choice these days, that’s for sure.

Living abroad for most of the decade.

Progressing a lot in my professional life.

Brexit, obviously. And the rise of more extreme politics in general.

And of course, the amazing Leicester City.

(just realised I already posted this in September. Obviously don't remember as much as I thought...)

TBH I think this a bigger problem than the bias that people think the mainstream media holds. Having "independent" news sources sounds good in theory, but in practice due to the lack of accountability it has led to things like climate change ignorance and anti-vax sentiment, both of which are legitimate threats to human society - to name but two.

It's frustrating because one is left with a choice between two wildly imperfect options for getting news.

I started this decade as the world's most famous online music pirate, and ended it as a normal bloke with no money. I dont know of anyone on this forum who partakes in that area of the internet. But, although I went to prison for my sins, I feel quite proud of what I achieved.

I ageee. And theres also large YouTube channels promoting white ethno states and nationalism. Incredibly dangerous atuff that can lead an already ignorant person into dangerous paths.

Though i dislike when mainstream media try to discredit decent content creators and lump all of them into the ssme category as Alex Jones and Stefan Molineux.

Did you make any money from doing that?
