Maybe it was to get him to try a little harder given the perofrmances he's put in when he played this season.

I don’t think there is any type of challenge that Mendy can’t make…

Ndidi ( and hopefully) will need to put in 10-15 decent to top performances,before

he can again take over Mendy.

It's genuinely sad watching him play nowadays because for 3-4 years or so when he first came, he was genuinely brilliant and looked like one of the best DMs in Europe and statistically was right up there. Now even his bread and butter of breaking up play isn't particularly great anymore.

I know some say "it's Rodgers tactics" but I just think injuries have done him in, regardless of any tactics, he just doesn't seem to have that same energy and relentless anymore.

Definitely signs of him back to his best. However, he has added this weird indecision to his game where he neither commits or holds his shape on a loose ball, meaning he ends up in no man's land.

...that is because of what Rodgers has asked of him!!!

  His instincts goes against the instructions that he has been given, and as with indecision,  you do neither.

Just isn't able to deal with the physicality of the league. Probably do brilliantly in Spain

Great first half performance. I don’t understand what has happened to him though?

Much better today then he has been and I think he only played over Mendy because of his height . It did look like he’d got concrete boots on at times though.

Hope after the break we go back to him, Tielemans and Maddison as the 3 in midfield. 
 

They were quality together, and our strongest combination. KDH and Mendy would very good impact subs to bring on.

It’s just down to loads of injurys, he just needs an injury free run and he will be back to his best

Thought he did well today, certainly first half. Obviously on the ball he Will never be perfect but he was winning tackles and intercepting as he used too.

Then to replace him with Soumare was risking the result.

Very harsh assessment of his performance. He was definitely good today. No idea why he was subbed, especially in favour of the useless Soumaré.

Strange, seemed like he made more than two tackles on that match...was the best match I've seen him play for us this season

If there's anything he definitely has....it's physicality.... If you were saying he was struggling technically then I would agree.... his passing is terrible although was a bit better today
