Yugoslavia and Zaire, 1974.

Correct, and for a further nine points can you name the Yugoslav captain?

I cant help thinking, that if this was Arsenal, spurs, Liverpool, man city, who got the 9.0 result, they would get alot more praise, with us its how poor Southampton were, not how good we were! Maybe im just paranoid

Understandably spirits on here are very high, and you certainly can't argue with a 9-0 win away from home in a P/L match!

Taking into account an utterly dire Southampton set up and performance, we have to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground, otherwise we'll all be moaning like crazy if we lose to Burton or Palace!

It really makes me mad to think we lost 1-0 to a terrible Man Utd side, and if we'd shown the same drive there as we did last night we'd be sitting on 23 points now. To think we beat Newcastle 5-0, Southampton 9-0 and both of them got results against Man Utd.

We scored more goals last night than Everton, Watford, Newcastle, Palace & Sheffield United each have scored the whole season.

Southampton 0-9 Leicester: Saints fan, 13, sees dream first game turn to nightmare
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50192467

Every kid dreams of watching their team play for the first time, but for one young Southampton fan, his dream turned into a nightmare.

Tom Sherburn had travelled for four hours with his family from Somerset to watch his beloved Saints get washed away with every raindrop inside St Mary's as they succumbed to a 9-0 thrashing by a marauding Leicester.

It was not how his dad Mike had imagined things would pan out when he presented the 13-year-old with a voucher promising him his first ever visit to Southampton.

"He'd waited so long for it. Just walking to the ground, you could see his face light up at how fantastic it was going to be, with all the swirling rain and the lights and TV cameras and lots of people.

"It was wonderful. And that lasted 10 minutes," Mike, 43, told BBC Sport.

Was just thinking back, should their defender who fouled Vardy for the penalty also have been sent off?
