Bloody Claude.

Stopping Fofana from visiting national treasures such as, The National Space Centre, Walkers Crisps factory and such like.

Keeping him tied up in a shithole like Saint-Etienne is a disgrace.

He’ll be prepared for life in Leicester atleastlol

Once had a picture with Puel and as he put his arm around the person I was standing next to the back of his hand brushed against my willy. True story.

I’ll drop the charges if he releases Fofana!

Shame on those of us who said Claude didn’t have a clue how to excite the fans

Like I said before in this thread. Puel has shown himself to be a Grade A Twat again with this. He’s tried to bully both the club he works for and Fofana into getting his own way. He doesn’t want to sell to us and will do anything to stop it. He’s making the transfer unnecessarily difficult for all parties. Now the club have to go against their manager by selling a player for the pre-agreed sum after his tantrums in the media.

It's his job

Maybe contractually he does have the FINAL say for transfers. Who knows. All this bs about Puel being spiteful is a nonsense when if it literally was any other manager or any other club with the same scenario, it woul dbe very simple that the manager is looking after the team's best interest, and a lack of replacement readily available for transfer.

But is he looking after the 'Club's' best interests, assuming they have loans to clear?  Truth is, we do not know what is really going on here. So we can make it up:ph34r:

Don't think this is based on any inside information, reflects what is being reported in the French press.

St Etienne obviously want the biggest fee possible, and positioning Puel as wanting the best for the club is a win-win.

What isn't clear is what is St Etienne's asking price and how much we've offered.

Assuming they have debts, they'll easily get the same amount next year or more in the wintersummer transfers ahead given he performs. That way he'd be happy to hold onto him as he can't easily be replaced surely?

But will they potentially get the same or more?   Injury and form issues come into play, as does the Corona Virus continuing to wreck Football Finances. There are a lot of unknown variables here, plus 30m Euros is a massive fee in Ligue 1, unless you are talking PSG of course.  Anyhow, we shall see.

This whole fiasco goes one of either 2 ways:

  1. Puel holds firm and keeps a player required for the team to be competitive this season
  2. The board overrule Claude and Fofana is sold for an astronomical amount for a Ligue 1 side

Either way, it is win-win for ASSE but only if it is completed soon. If this is a deadline day move there is no way they would be able to replace Fofana so one would assume this transfer must be quite close to some sort of conclusion.

Le 10 Sport reported last night that "important discussions with ASSE would also be considered next week, in the hope of moving the lines and accelerating the process of the transfer" (link)

It can therefore be assumed that if he there isn't any movement within the next week we'll be moving on to other tah-gets.

I don't think anyone can say this is Puel digging his heels in on this transfer to spite us, the fact is Fofana is a highly rated 19 year old player who he would like to keep at the club. The same as if a Champions League side came in for Cags now we'd be highly reluctant to sell.

It's a big fee, but he's a young lad, and if there isn't a ready transferable replacement for them available in the market, then having a huge fee means nothin if you have a huge CB gap in your defence. Just imagine we had the same issue with Cags. We had the same issue with Maguire. Held on to him until we were sure we had a replacement (ok that came internally - but the principle is the same)

For the millionth time, if the ASSE board want the money we're offering, he comes here. **** all to do with Puel, blaming him is just click bait.

True, but if everything reported in the media is to be believed then he does have a big say in this transfer in particular as the board are reluctant to agree to this sale on his say-so. It seems to me that the board hold him in such high regard that they don't want to upset him and clearly believe this could tip him over the edge.

I don't think anyone seriously believes Puel has the final no-no-go decision, but he is definitely a large factor in the decision taken by the board.

Some absolute rubbish coming out as usual. Close thread not happening.

Really? Cos signing a winger that we can pick up on loan and defer the payments, right at the time it looks like we were lacking the funds to meet their price, looks a lot like us preparing financially to go back with a bid we think they'll take.

Which seems to be also be corroborated by Percy at the bottom of his Under article and seems fairly consistent with our business dealings so far the last few windows.

Shame Puel knows he’s shit lol

Benkovic was a Leicester player for 3 weeks whilst Puel was here before he was shipped out on loan. Puel was sacked long before he came back from Celtic.

I doubt they'd even recognise each other in the street lol
