There's two feeds apparently. One with crowd noise and one without. Depending on what you are watching through you might get the quiet one.

I don't mind the fake fan noise so much when you can't see the stands, you can almost forget the stands are empty, but seems a bit ridiculous when they go to a wide shot and you can see empty stands but still hear a buoyant crowd chanting.

I just stuck the Dortmund game on and got really confused!

We're going to need to utilise this.  Done correctly, it could make quite the difference with the home game outcomes.

This might be a controversial statement with some of you footie hipsters but the fake crowd noise actually makes the games watchable.... it's surprisingly reassuring hearing crowd noise!

I didn't hate the piped noise as much as I thought I would. It's obviously a bit shit but I don't think they did too bad a job.

 

I will say this though I think it's easier to do it for German crowds than it is English - German atmosphere is a lot more consistent whereas English is very up and down by nature.

No strong feeling either way on the noises, just put some music on or something if you don't like what you're dealt with, the commentary always takes such a slating anyway it's not as if you're missing out.

Just turned on the schalke game. Are they using a simulated  crowd? If they are, it’s very clever how they do it. Hope. they do it when we play even if we’ve only got one chant and a drum

The crowd soundtrack is from FIFA 20 - hence the chants are aligned with the clubs involved.

I always thought I’d hate it when it was suggested but I actually like it and it is what it is. 

 

Makes it all seem slightly less weird.
