I got a notification today saying that I was in contact with somebody who has tested positive and need to isolate for 5 days. Working backwards, that’s Wednesday last week that I would have had to have been in contact with them, a day I didn’t leave the house other than to drop my son at nursery, outdoors where everyone was wearing masks.

My wife is due to give birth on Saturday. As it stands if it’s early I can’t be there if I follow the rules and don’t lie to the hospital staff.

I’ve taken a LFT and it’s negative. I have a PCR test left over from the cup final, I’m sending that off and if it comes back negative then absolutely no chance I am missing my child’s birth, especially when the rules are due to change imminently.

That's the most sensible thing to do mate. I was at a pub outdoors with four people, and then a few days later my girlfriend got a notification instructing her to isolate, when none of us other three did.

Missing the birth of your child to satisfy a seemingly arbitrary system would be crazy.

Anyone else not had the vaccine yet? I don't know whether to have it or not? i'm mid 30's been working since it started and not had any bad flus apart from when it first appeared.

Which is the one that was causing bloodclots?

Astrazeneca.

We’ll be locked down again by Christmas

Doubt it. I’ve seen or read nothing to suggest any issues. Hospital admissions are steady and according to the NHS Providers chief exec, younger people going in with ‘bad mild’ cases that can be treated on general wards. The one ICU nurse on here say they’re generally not busy with Covid. Those adults who aren’t vaccinated now will be by the end of summer and by winter I imagine they’d have started offering it to the kids.

The only thing that can change it now is a new variant, and that will happen whether we open further or not.

I think according to the odds (well its something like this) you have more chance of being in a plane crash than getting an AZ bloodclot.

Do you want to go to any away games or maybe even the Charity Shield, you might need the jab!!

I see journalists are still asking absolutely stupid questions. "Prime minister predict how many will die".

I turned off the radio when one woman basically called Johnson out for not being able to predict the future.

It annoys me that these people get to ask questions and all they try and do is trip up the interviewee rather than try and gather information lol

Didn't he just say no COVID passports?

Can't see you needing the vaccine to live a normal life like many of us thought tbh. A negative test for big events is about as drastic as it's going to get.

3rd wave ?

Big rise in cases?

Hopefully that won’t happen .

Cases don't matter if they don't lead to anything more serious. Which the current evidence shows.

Why's that?

Because we’re the UK and given our track record at handling this, we usually fvck up at some point.

I would strongly recommend you get it. You know what causes more blood clots than any vaccine? Covid.

Bizarre.  That's the first time they've delivered a set of graphs that actually make perfect sense on the eve of lifting all restrictions.  Coincidence perhaps?

Translation:

The exact same data points they've used for ages now results in my preferred outcome, therefore the data is better.
