World Football Rankings Foxes shine

We hit our all-time high water mark (world top ten) briefly in December …

… and haven’t tumbled as much as one might expect.  (Partly because recent performance of English clubs in the EL and CL lifts all PL boats in this ranking.  It also uses xG as well as the match results, and we lost a few on the run-in where we came out ahead on that.)

Fix the psychology, fill the few big holes in the squad, and we’ll be the favorites in the Europa League.  Piece of cake …

Imagine seeing Leicester City being ranked the 17th best team in the world and still being able to moan. Beggars Belief.

Yep harsh fans since we won the league I feel

They aren't even relevant to us anymore. We haven't got any rivals anymore.

So with this train of thought then Portsmouth are no longer rivals with Southampton

They have a duty to remind us that we have to be as miserable as they clearly are.

Wow 🤣 sorry. Thanks for the character reference.

Seems the world football rankings are showing Leicester City are the 17th best club in the world, above the likes of Juventus and AC Milan and way above Spuds and Gooneys according to this article !

Not aware of this has been posted before?

Juventus just won the league (again), so I think it may not be a great measure....

These primary school projects during lock down have a lot to answer for.

It really is a strange situation we're in at the moment because on the face of it we have finished 5th in the strongest league in the world.

If we finished 2nd and carried on that form we were in before christmas then i dont think anyone would have been questioning an even higher positioning.

But because we have been so poor, i think its quite accurate to say that team who finished the season is more like a mid table premier league side.

Loads of rivals haven't played each other in years.

As mentioned, Southampton/Portsmouth (granted they played each other in the cup last season) and derbies like Port Vale/Stoke and Newcastle/Sunderland. They all still hate each other though.

I think it's because it's a load of shite. Being in the PL helps because it's ranked so highly as a division.

Are we "better" than sides like Ajax or Juventus? No.

It's an arbitrary list. We're not the 17th best team in the world. If we really were, I'd be delighted!
