We'd have won that, Strictly Come Dancing, and the 'guess the weight of the cake' comp at the Kibworth Harcourt village fete. Plus, given the great escape, we'd have walked Channel 4's Hunted.

Whilst both extremely successful, they’re arguably revered even more than the men that won us the Premier League and FA Cup.

I think guys of a certain age (25 to 35 mainly) would have really connected to Nige. He saved us big time, the seasons before his arrival were absolutely dreadful and if we hadn’t got that appointment right in league one we could still be down there for all we know.

I absolutely adore and idolise Nigel F Pearson. 

 

Manager of the best Leicester era and best era of my life. 

 

The Championship promotion is my favourite season ever and can't see it being topped for my own personal enjoyment and connection to LCFC.

Yeah with all the others above. I’m 26 and NP made me love a Leicester city side for first time in my life. Great manager and leader, don’t think anyone will be able to top him for me (ranieri literally won us the PL and still love NP more)

Spot on. They say never meet your heroes but I met Nige and can confirm he is an absolute gent. Offered to share a taxi with me and my mate to the ground from the station and we said no cos we were going to the pub. I was a ****ing idiot at that moment.

I love to hear that the old timers love Nige too. Top man. Seems mainly the younger guys who don’t seem to appreciate just what that man did for our club. Those who were in their teens when we won the premier league. That is obviously going to have an affect on your standards.

One of the best memories of the European trips, was standing outside the bar in Randers, p*sing it down, police around us waiting for an escort to the stadium, everyone singing ‘there’s only one Nigel pearson’, still my favorite manager by a country mile.  
Remember going Fulham away in league 1, august in the league cup we lost 3-2. But they were in the premier at the time & we more than matched them, at full time he came over and tolds all the players as well, gave us a proper clap and also with the performance, went away thinking things he’s definitely different  to the shite managers we had been through at that time.

Wow that’s sounds class. Do you have a recording? Might use that as my first dance song if so.

I’d like to see Pearson do really well at Bristol. He ain’t been sacked yet which, to me shows that the Board have given him license to do things his own way. 
I think they’ll be near to the play-offs this term, but only if they give him time and accept how he does things. Ie. If you ain’t playing for Nigel, you’re gone.

Might have missed it in the white noise of our non-transfer window, but he's apparently given Kingy a player-coach role for Bristol City too. 

 

Can only echo what others have said - the Pearson era, especially that first round in L1 and our first year back in the Championship, is what made me fall in love with this club. You just knew the players in that squad were all pulling in the same direction and 'got' what it meant to us, after half a decade of dross culminating in our lowest ebb.

 

Well, we don't talk about Kermo, but otherwise the point stands.

I think it is very relevant to your age, I was 14-23 when we had the likes of Little, O'Neill and Adams so have very fond memories of that era.

 

As you get older and have other distractions, I think how you connect and feel about managers changes.

Great point this.

 

Nige Part 1 and 2 and then into Claudio I was 18-26. 

 

Basically meant going to most games and certainly watching every minute of every game in some way, away days, football+drinking, etc etc.

 

I've not warmed to BR at all but during that time we've had Covid, televised football overload and i've become a Dad so you might be onto something

I'm 76 so have seen us under our 3 greatest managers - Gillies, O'Neil and Pearson. All 3 made much more of the team than their constituent parts, gave us more success than our financial position warranted, and gave us a team with which the fans could identify.

 

I felt the same strong love for the team when Pearson first came and had us playing such wonderful football but this has soured over the last 18 months.

 

As for Pearson's lack of success at other clubs - well that's not strictly true. Before he came to us he did a great job of keeping Southampton up (at our expense) and, more recently, did brilliantly to put Watford in a position from which they could have escaped relegation.

 

It's true, though, that Pearson hasn't had success wherever he's been.  I believe that's because he manages more effectively when he has a long term remit to restructure a club to his own ideal.

Never did like Pearson. Very overated. I'm 75 now and seen a good half dozen managers, including Brendan, that I consider better, but everyone to their own, I guess.
