Nope, that's stopped now, back to normal next season (with a few extra games over the course of the season). I imagine we'll hear of a LCFC tv pass soon, allowing us to watch most or all of our games.

Doesn't look like it at the minute. No deal agreed to show every game that's behind closed doors. Potential situation that some matches taking place in the top division in this country can only be accessed legally by people outside of the country, if, as someone else mentioned in the Fixtures thread, the broadcasters have blocked a "club pass" option. The 3pm blackout shouldn't be a problem in September as no clubs above the third level of non-league can accommodate fans in stadia. There is no excuse for not allowing fans to see matches in some way.

I don't know the ins and outs to be honest, but from what I gather the issues isn't necessarily the blackout, it's that Sky/BT/Amazon just aren't going to show all 10 games like last season, nor are they allowing clubs to broadcast their own games behind any sort of "pass" or paywall? I totally agree, there is no excuse for not allowing fans to access the game legally. In fact by not doing so, they're basically encouraging people to pile together to watch streams, gather in those dodgy pubs etc. Crazy situation we could find ourselves in. I imagine the three want a rebate on their rights figure to let clubs broadcast.

BakerLCFC 27 Posted 20 August 2020 Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 Link to the talksport article here. Surprised more hasn’t been made of this as it is pretty shocking and is just going to encourage more fans to stream illegally.
Popular Post jeffschlupp 1,599 Posted 20 August 2020 Popular Post Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 (edited) I get that the PL want to protect the interests of the broadcasters but in what way does showing the other 160 games, all of which will be Saturday 3pm games, exclusively to STHs/members per club affect their viewership? How can you play 42% of the entire competition in front of literally nobody in the UK, or at best 22,500 people at Old Trafford and much less at every other ground? It's utter madness when only 9,750 of our 23k STHs will be able to go, never mind members, never mind the poor sods still unwilling to go and/or shielding. At worst, why can't the PL hand the other 160 games to Sky and BT themselves? It is crazy that you can watch Leicester at 3pm in 211 territories and the only one you can't is the one it's being played in! As others have said, the PL have spent millions and years of their time trying to crack down on illegal streaming, only for them to open the doors wide for it to be literally the only option for the majority of matchgoing supporters, never mind the rest. Cardiff_Fox 6,045 Posted 20 August 2020 Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 You can’t gobble the TV money and say cheers Sky, now will you put every game on TV for us?
davieG 17,018 Posted 20 August 2020 Author Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 As others have said it really is a no brainer and there's not a single legitimate reason for not having a streaming pass for ST Holders for all 3pm none televised games. It doesn't affect the broadcasters in anyway and as for the 3pm blackout if it's only available to ST holders they would have been at the games at 3pm anyway. I'm fed up with hearing how important fans are to the game well if they really believe that then they should treat those fans with respect and allow them to watch these games.

Beachyboy 114 Posted 20 August 2020 Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 If everyone in the UK cancelled Sky Sports/ BT sport for 6 months until some sort of normality is allowed to return in stadiums a message would no doubt be sent, but people don't they moan and pay anyway, the quickest way back into the stadiums properly if they aren't gonna show the games on TV, is just to boycott the whole game, this madness has been allowed to continue for far to long, the easiest way to send a message is by not giving these corporations any money until the beautiful game is returned properly.
Blue-fox 339 Posted 20 August 2020 Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 This shows that the premier league and the TV companies literally do not care about football, just the money. Appalling.

Popular Post Foxes_Trust 166 Posted 20 August 2020 Popular Post Report Share Posted 20 August 2020 We have been working behind the scenes with Kat from the Spurs Trust (quoted in the BBC article) over the last couple of weeks when it became apparent that our concerns were not being listened to, Kat speaking to the media today is only the start of this campaign. We are going to contact all fellow LCFC fans groups & ask for their backing over the next couple of days. The club is aware of our views, but while we can lobby the clubs, it's the TV companies & political pressure that we need to target, the PL itself is too scared of losing TV revenue to lobby itself, so the pressure needs to come from fans groups If someone on this message board wants to create something so the posters here can give their backing & we can total up the numbers in an easy way, it would be much appreciated
StanSP 25,906 Posted 23 August 2020 Report Share Posted 23 August 2020 I know fixtures were only just out a few days ago but any idea when first lot will be announced by Sky/BT? This on the basis that their initial quota of games to show is the same and they continue with their stance not to show all games.
Livid 1,036 Posted 23 August 2020 Report Share Posted 23 August 2020 To be honest right now the broadcast companies don’t want everyone to get into the habit of not going and watching it all on TV. We all know what ‘The product’ looks like with a empty stadium and it will no doubt look similar with a third of the seats full. They want to edge you into going back as soon as possible to full capacity stadiums showing the PL at it’s best. I don’t think they would have an issue with showing every game under normal circumstances.
