Any idea on when he could be back? This month or April?

From the press conference

Castagne?

“He’s probably another three weeks or so. He had the operation on his leg. At the same time he had his shoulder done as well. Both of those had the same recovery time. He’s back out on the field.”

Maybe on the bench for Brentford at home on 20th at a push? But after that it is international break so probably Man Utd away start of April

He's been unlucky. Thigh, shoulder and smashed face. That's the three surgeries done.

Can see some people blaming Dave Rennie, the former physio, for it..

I'm still not sold on Castagne I'd have him 4th choice of our fullbacks myself

Unlike Danny Simpson, he looks better when he's allowed to cross the halfway line...

Glad to hear his shoulder is sorted too. Pretty sure it fully dislocated in one of the games earlier this season? Everyone thought he'd go off he looked in that much pain. Then they shoved it back into place and off he went to keep playing!

Fully fit, he is great competition for Ricky P.

ill never understand some people claiming this season is a write off due to injuries and such, and yet wanting to sell players because of this year

Great to see Castagne is on his way back to fitness, it will be a massive boost getting something towards a fully fit squad for Brendan Rogers to choose from!

Injuries are one of those things where you get increasing returns when players return. Having more players back allows more rotation and therefore less future injuries. To be able to rotate four players of the quality (and relative injury proneness for the first three) of Ricardo, Castagne, Justin and Thomas will be a real boost especially with Thursday/Sunday hopefully on the cards beyond this week.

If Vardy is as quick as hoped, we *might* only be short of Bertrand and Ward for Man United on 2 April and a potential quarter-final in the week after.

Let's hope he can get back up to speed, he's not had much luck here and on international duty. Barely seen anything of him in an attacking sense this season and those injuries last season seemed to take him off his stride. His first 2 or 3 games here last season he looked unbelievable. Likewise around March/April but then tailed off and this season has been one to forget for him.

I've been quite critical of whether his future lies here or elsewhere and it's not due to ability, just some things don't really work out. Hopefully he gets back fit and on form.

That's cheered me up. An extremely welcome.boost in a couple of weeks.

A fully fit Timmy at RB, JJ at LB and Ricardo at RM...the Holy trinity!!! 🙏

....Ricardo is not brilliant in the RM position!!!

I really feel now that he (Ricardo) has signed a new contract, Castagne is going to be looking for pastures new. This setup just does not work for either player. Castagne wants to play RB and Ricardo wants to play there also.

Once fit we might see RP at right back, TC at left back and JJ one of the three centre backs. Young Luke has played way more than expected this season and likely to be rotated when they're all fit.

Caatagne hasn't had a good game for us at LWB yet, it seems to be his worst position we've played him at bar as a 3rd centre half. I prefer all of our full backs as full backs but I can well see this happening.

I get you but we haven't actually ever seen it, ie all 3 together at the same time. Not as far as I can recall anyway.

An interchangeable Castagne and Ricardo in theory could/should boss the right hand side against anyone.

Wasn't he signed as a left back due to his success in that position at Atalanta?
