he was really good tonight, for the first goal he recued a poor pass from Ndidi, drove forward and started the move for the goal, he should be playing more often then not in this system, both he and Barnes are so much better together in this formation

Plays much better with a wide man in front of him, definitely suits playing as a LB rather LWB.

U watch the same game as me , would love to see his stats for going forward compared to his going backwards , the kid is a good defender but he is rubbish going forward needs to spent a year in a lower division to improve his attacking skills

He'd look better going forward if Barnes was performing better/at the level we've seen from him.

As good as Barnes was he wasnt tracking back,

This is the reason Barnes isn't trusted by Rodgers , he needs to up his defensive work if he wants to progress to a higher level. That goes for all wide players these days. Albrighton has always done that and Barnes being years younger should have no problem with that. It will mean upping his yardage considerably each game. Thomas is doing OK should be a sound asset for many years.

I’d much rather see Thomas every week over someone like Bertrand. But hey some fans would still be playing Fuchs and King 🤷🏼

Had a decent performance yesterday

It hard to be an attacking fullback when you have a winger like Barnes in front of you.

For all Barnes great working going forward he's not that great going the other way and helping out his FB

So you have to sit in a little like Simpson did behind Mahrez

Thought he was brilliant last night. For a bloke with 'zero attacking threat' he didn't half do well for the first goal.

Won virtually every header last night too.

I agree, thought he was excellent.

I think people forget his only 20 and still learning the game at this level.

He's 20 yrs of age and gradually and intermittently breaking into the team, do you honestly expect him to perform like Marcelo?

What is it that you are reasonably expecting from him that he's not giving at this very early stage of his development? Also consider that he will be following, at his age, the orders of his manager to the letter and possibly Rodgers doesn't want him to overcommit himself on forward runs into the oppositions last third?

We hadn't the money for a 'ready made' this season as there were other perceived priorities. There was a lot of whining about the perceived weakness of a young Chilwell, bet he was pleased he left some of those whining buggers behind him. He's now playing better football for a better team with better prospects. He who laughs last.

It has to be said though that Luke is still a long way behind a fully fit Justin. JJ is equally comfortable at LB and LWB and if necessary on the other flank. He is 20 years old and will get many games in the next few years.

Hes a much better left back than a wing back. He's not lightning quick so as a wing back its a tricky.

Great performance from this young lad last night had superb confidence & composure on the ball picked out some quality passes just a shame he didn’t get himself the goal on that lovely run and shot in the second half.
