Statistically he has improved though

Compared to last season, per game he completes more tackles, makes more interceptions, gives away less fouls, wins more offsides, makes more clearances, makes more blocks, makes more key passes, completes more dribbles, makes more passes, completes more passes, completes more long balls, and completes more through balls.

And now has more pears in a pear tree , plus 13 days of christmas for sharing what his true love…

Sent to him…

From his debut to now he hasn’t improved in a attacking sense at all.

He can’t take people on with pace or skill and without that skill set not going to make it

...when he first came in, his biggest feature was the ability to put unbelievably great crosses into the box and we should have profited more from them!!!

He is constantly now coming inside (underlapping) Barnes, and it does not play to his better assets, and stifles Barnes options.

All over the pitch we were poor, and if it wasn't for his fatigue, KDH would have had to be the one pulling us out of the mire again, because no one has any awareness to step up, when things are not going right.

He's 20 years old.

Played in an FA Cup Final and has bags of potential.

He's had a couple of bad games and people are writing off his career.

What the hell is wrong with you?

Comparing him to Chilwell...Luke is ahead.

But Dewsbury-Hall is the new Messiah aged 23?

You lot must be fvcking impeccable at the job you do and been doing it since a very young age.

he's been below par for what we need for most games i have seen him play mate

Loved to be proved wrong in a few months time but i think he won't be as good as some people make out.

I think he's alright, maybe he struggles to win people over by not having many defining traits, daft as it sounds. Chilwell couldn't cross a road but his athleticism and ability to get us up the pitch were really, really great.

After Thomas' first few games back end of 19/20 I thought his left peg could be a big attribute but he doesn't seem to find himself in spots to use it all that often.

It can't help that he's been playing in patchwork backlines all season, not gonna be hugely reassuring as a young full back when you're lining up alongside Cags and Dan.

So we should've gone out and spent £30m on a back up until JJ and Ricky P got fit?

If a Championship player can keep Mo Salah quiet for 90 minutes though, then let's sign more of them lol

Incoming ban. People talking sense on FT is often frowned upon.   The FT way is to crucify young players after any hint of a bad game. God forbid any young Fox that does not turn in 10/10 performances in every game.  Farmed out to Luton is the usual suggested remedy.

Talk of loaning him out is absolutely crazy, even without Europe next season he'll get at least 15 or so games at minimum. I fully expect him to progress in the coming 12 months and just about be our first choice by the end of next season.

The lad is only 20 and has someone said above he has actually improved. Stick him in a constant back 4 and he'll have the odd slip up but he'll be fine. At his age you're bound to have a poor game every 3 or 4 games. I think his biggest weakness is his physicality, but give him time and that'll improve naturally.

Cant belive some of the nagtive chat on this thread.  He's a kid, yeah hes a bit raw but hes shown some real class at times.  Hes a FA cup winner already, and he's a local lad, get behind him

He struggled against top drawer players. He is what he is, don't think he'll ever be a world beater, but he'll have a decent career.

The kid needs a loan.

He's not going to get a look in when JJ, Ricardo and Castagne are all fit. Only ever playing the odd game in 4 or 5 is gonna hinder his development.

Go out on loan either to a Premier League club or a top Championship side and play football every week.

He desperately needs a loan...If for nothing else, for time away from Rodgers and to a competent coach.

He was much more adventurous when he came into the side, but looks like Rodgers has took that out his game.

....Ziyech is no mug....!!!

Luke has the unenviable task of coming up against quality wingers, the RW types that we have been endlessly looking for!!!

He was up against Mahrez and KDB (he had little support) up against Ziyech (Amartey was the LCB). He has one of the most demanding roles in the game and I believe need to learn his craft away from the onslaught of attackers that he has had to face. A season out on loan, with consistent game time would enhance his game and help him mature.

He maybe getting invaluable experience at the moment but he is no longer doing the things he used to excel at, and to a point he is regressing. Rodgers man management skills may be his ability to communicate on a one to one basis, where the conversation appears honest and heartfelt, and so you accept the information imparted.

I have worked with such a person who made you feel that he understood who you are and who genuinely cared about you. Away from that he was a shallow man, who cared only about himself and he only cared and viewed his own self importance.

He seems to take players out of games when they are running into form and the situation with Nacho where he is chopped and changed does not help anyone. You get the feeling that he can read  people, just not the situations that he finds himself in.

He always struggles at wing-back. I think there's a very decent left back there though. Naturally he's going to be inconsistent at his age. Definitely needs to bulk up a bit in the summer.

If you manage a Championship team , would you pick a skinny left back against teams that will use their physical strength to gain an advantage. If Luke can't stand up to Reece James , he will get steamrollered in the Championship. There is no immediate need to play him , so its down the gym for Luke to pack on ten pounds of muscle.

He being crap has nothing to do with wing back position

Whole team stayed behind and all he has to do was defending, not the stuff wing back does

He was bullied by crap Zieych and yeah was not expecting much against James, but still

Loan is must. He will not play much next season when we are not in europe anymore
