Probably need a "What if" thread because there's so many that could be asked.

Certain managers are the right fit at the right time.

Brian Little rebooted us and took us into the big time. You might argue he built some foundations which Martin O'Neill benefitted from later.

MON had the magic to get us up and keep us in the top 10 and win trophies.

Pearson built a house but couldn't have supplied the high end decor to the same house.

Ranieri supplied the high end decor but couldn't have the built the same house. Sadly he couldn't maintain that decor.

Rodgers picked up a demotivated group in a broken down car by the side of the road - he may not win us a trophy but he's driven us a long way forward.

Was the car a Biege Austin Allegro estate, with brown plastic dash and brown fabric seats? 😂

No, Claudio had the players motivated so wasnt much to be gained there from Rodgers man management, and I think our counter attack played to the squad strength we had at the time, and Rodgers isnt a counter attack manager.

No, I think we'd have given up too many points in games we should've got something. Every team had a tough match that season, we played well even in the home defeat to Arsenal.

Nah, that year was the stars aligning.  Every single element present that season was exactly the necessary thing we needed to accomplish the impossible.  Of course as we all know the most important element was Nigel Pearson so a better question would be if we'd have won the title if we had Rodgers for a couple of spells in the years prior to the title win.

Almost definitely not, it was the perfect storm, a million different factors all aligning for one beautiful season and Ranieri's personality was a big factor. He was key in keeping the pressure off and the media onside.

Rodgers for all of his qualities is quite intense in a focussed and driven way and a largely positive way, but I don't know if he would have kept the pressure off nor that he could have been able to resist tinkering.

Ranieri did do some tinkering, but quickly realised he needed to trust the players and just the let season ride out.

Dilly ding, dilly dong!

Agree with the majority here that it was just an alignment of everything. Claudio desperately wanted to have one more crack at it and dispel the "tinkerman" tag, a group of players that were united and obviously had a strong bond. Ranieri was perfect for us at that time, took the pressure off the players, but always giving them encouragement and plaudits in his press conferences. His only real changes were replacing our full backs by bringing in Simpson and Fuchs. He preferred Shinji to Krameric at the start, and after a few games Knte to Inler, and as we hardly had any injuries, he stuck to the winning formula and the rest was history.

So No, i do not Rodgers, or any other manager for that matter, would have won us the league. Change one thing and it would not have happened

Firstly I honestly think if this season we win it again and throw the Europa league in as a double, It would still not top 15/16.

I’d argue nothing this century would top it in football , in any country , in any league by any team.

What we did was ‘impossible’. Yes impossible obviously wasn’t in reality the correct word but seriously, even if Norwich come back up this season and win it in 2021/2022 it still wouldn’t quite be as remarkable because we did it before.

2ndly Cambiasso our best ever midfield player!? He doesn’t even make our top 20.

To answer the question, I’d say he wouldn’t because he doesn’t like sticking to the same team and he would change too much.

Ranieri effectively was limited but he just let it ride when it was working. Rodgers would try and be too smart for his own good and probably wouldn’t bring the fire.

I don't think he would have. Ranieri figured out Vardy was a number 9, and moved into a 4-4-2 with Okazaki a shadow striker. I remember hearing an interview with a player after our title win, and said Ranieri asked the squad in pre season, who's our most skillful player and everyone said Mahrez and he was given a free role. Playing Vardy as a number 9 and giving Mahrez a free role were two big changes Ranieri made.

I don't think BR would have done the same. He likes his teams to retain possession and work hard to press. With the lack of pace our defenders had that season, we would have probably been countered on more often and lost many more games. We didn't have the BR players then but we do have them now.

Even though Rodgers says the rights things to ease pressure there's no way he would have had them making Pizzas.

Claudio was like a walking pressure release valve, just what we needed that season.

I don’t think anyone else would have won the league. I don’t think we’d even had won the league with one different player, even if that was an upgrade (Ricardo in place of Simpson, for example). I don’t think we’d have won the league with a different kit person or mascot. Or if one of the games had been on a different day. What happened to us that season was truly truly a sporting miracle and everything just came to place at exactly the right time for it to happen. I honestly think one tiny change could have derailed it all. I still can’t believe it happened to be honest, it’s the greatest story ever told. X

That's exactly my feeling too.  If Ulloa had worn different coloured pants against West Ham etc etc.  Every tiny detail had to happen the way it happened and you can extend this further, all the way back to Deeney Day and beyond to relegation to League One in my opinion.

Ranieri was the right man, the only man, that could deliver the title in 2016.  Rodgers is the right man for 2020.

Aye, agree 100%. Still can’t believe it. Football. Bloody hell. X

I refuse to talk to with you or @murphy, because both your approval rating averages are higher than mine.

Mine’s off the charts. I’m basically a God. In fact I don’t know why I’m even lowering myself to reply to the likes of you. X

I've realised that this is very much humble bragging on my part, so I'm not going to perpetuate this. lol

Very nice analogies. It's been quite a journey getting here hasn't it. Some great memories from a great club. It's certainly not been mundane!

Completely agree, was going to say something similar but you’ve nailed it. Swap Shinji for Messi and we’d have been mid-table!

Wasn’t Rodgers at Liverpool, so doubt he’d have got the chance, or that the inkling to join “little” Leicester

Never read or spoken to anyone who could tell me how we did it. Guy who came nearest was a youngish guy (young to me) who I sat next to at the sad West Ham match after which we lost chairman. I asked him how we did it. He said "Chemistry. No one knows"

Look at this way, if you had garnered even one more rep during the title season, it wouldn't have happened.  Everything had to be just so.

Perhaps I'm taking it too far now.

This is very true.

I don't think I have ever enjoyed a season less than 2016, especially post Christmas.  I was a bag of nerves because I knew it was our one and only chance but whenever Claudio spoke he seemed to find exactly the right words and exactly the right tone, like some kindly uncle or a big mug of horlicks and all was well in the world.
