Bruce meant to have fallen out with some of the players, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone soon

Think that’s been rubbished. The players in question are suffering long term effects of covid and that’s why they haven’t been in the squad.

He has failed everywhere bar here and possiblly Hull

Harsh, I think he’d have kept Watford up.

PL clubs have gotten better with managerial recruitment, fewer sackings generally now than a few years ago. The average age of signings and shot distance has reduced steadily which is a certain sign of analytics becoming more popular

I think Potter could be soon facing the chop. Wouldn't be shocked to see Paella Pulis if Arsenal continue to falls

I personally believe that Potter is a very good manager & it would be a mistake to fire him.

How much longer the Blades will back Wilder remains to be seen. Just look at his record this season, managers have gone before.

Could see someone like Eddie Howe then taking his place

Apart from Carlisle where he kept them up and then remember him keeping Southampton up at our expense?

He is a legend here and did very well at Hull.

Derby didn’t last and can’t really be judged as a failure, he only stayed a couple of months and fell

out with their weird owner who wanted to spy on all his training sessions.

OHL didn’t work out and is perhaps the only job you could consider he failed.

Watford he improved no end, and many thought they’d stay up - Don’t forget how far adrift they were when he took over and without them sacking him, I think they would have survived.

So he failed in one job and has never been relegated.

Great post. Saved me writing out near on exactly the same reply to that initial ridiculous comment.

Fook it! I’m gonna go for one of these jobs!
I’m an old journeyman, can use the term ‘stamp’ on ( add player here), look like Ronnie Benson out of Mike Bassett and don’t mind a pay-off

I’ll start my interview with ‘As I’ve said about ten times before’

Clattermole would be my number 2 and my first signing would be Jay Thomas as my DM

So back to Arsenal and the inevitability of Arteta's sacking. Not sure if many remember but before Arteta got the job there were some rumblings about BR wanting to go and talk to them and then the players found out and were not best pleased (rumours).

So if he were to go, more than likely BR would be one of the bookies favourites. Now on paper yes we are doing much better than them, we have fantastic players, we have a brand new state of the art training centre etc etc. But we have to be a bit realistic in the sense that most players/managers would see Arsenal FC as a "bigger opportunity". Now we know BR is determined to be back at the top, him leaving celtic showed us that.

I for one will be a bit nervous if/when Arteta goes but I hope BR does also have a slight blue tint in his glasses and realises that we also have the potential to be great and be one of the top teams, but we cannot move our club to a bigger city like London, Manchester or Liverpool and that ultimately may be our stumbling block. I really hope not.

He wanted to go when they enquired last December. It will be interesting to see if he feels any differently this time.

I don’t know what’s gone on at Sheff U - I was really impressed with Wilder last season - not afraid to be critical of players even when they won, gracious to opponents in most cases and developed his own style to play to his key players’ strengths and made them hard to beat . They look lost this year and the new players brought in have been poor

Unfortunately I can see this happening.

He'll probably see it as a rare opportunity to join one of the 'bigger' clubs. He's unlikely to get the gig at Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea or Spurs, possibly Manure if OGS goes.

Money talks. If Arsenal want him he'll probably go.

I'm not so sure - he has so much going for him with us, and I think he'd like to see the job through. Plus he's already very well paid.

Told you that himself did he? I doubt Rodgers could sort them out given their owners. He’d get slagged off within a few months

Arsenal are becoming a Forest or Derby.  Living off past exploits and history.  I am struggling to see how any sane person would trade Leicester for Arsenal (December 2020 version).  We pay BR a super wedge and Arsenal are no Chelsea/Manure/ManC when it comes to Transfer Windows.  What would be the point ?

They are in danger are being voted out of the 'Big 6' Club as they are embarrassingly bad.

If he left the situation he's currently in to go to Arsenal in their current state, you'd really have to question his judgement!

Rodgers is not a stupid man and is understandably ambitious. He will only go to a 'bigger' job if the situation there is reasonable chance of success, whatever that might be at the time. We were absolutely a reasonable bet for him with the talented young squad and very decent supportive owners, it was a very doable project. Arsenal seems like a club with a rotten core in the stewardship of owners nothing like the quality of ours. I'm not saying he wouldn't go there one day but currently it would be a huge risk for him. A finish in the top 4 with us and qualification for Champions League football would increase his stock considerably. He's not going to waste that opportunity and I don't blame him.

Really, so they hired Arteta instead, even if BR was interested, I doubt he is now 1. Knowing he was 2nd choice and more importantly 2. He is building a far better portfolio and reputation with the Foxes, is on a decent wage sitting 2nd in the PL and doing well in Europe, I'd be amazed if he even gave it a second thought!

Unai Emery is an excellent manager. Nobody goes to that club not being in a position of power. That's what Rodgers did here by getting an extension and raise. He made sure the club had skin in the game and that he would be backed. Or he would have went elsewhere. But not to Arsenal. Not now.

Unai is not dead yet.
