Perez has had his chance at centre forward, time for Iheanacho now until Vardy is back. Perez has the remarkable knack of either dropping so deep we have no focal point or being offside any time we get a telling ball in to the box. He must have had 3 goals chalked off this season already for offsides and he's barely played. Derby county play off final?

I would play Iheanacho though as simply can’t be worse than Perez as a lone striker. I may be in the minority but I personally think Hamza is better than Mendy. I've never got why Brendan doesn't like him. All subjective though of course. 1

deanolegend1989 Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 Just now, Unabomber said: Mendy is better than Hamza though no one can argue that. It’s like asking which sh*t smells better. There both poor but Hamza is slightly less poor because he presses better. Anguissa will rip Mendy to shreads. If we want even a romote chance to win vs Fulham we need someone better next to Youri. I’d like to see Amarty there as he’s physical and has played there before. He also gives us extra height in set pieces. Failing that Hamza. It’s going to be more dropped points with little Mendy in there and he’ll play amazing again. 2 minutes ago, peach0000 said: I may be in the minority but I personally think Hamza is better than Mendy. He also has more room to prove being younger and more physical. I really hope Brendan gives him a chance and gets rid of Mendy before we throw away the top 4. Next 2 games without 4 of our best players are crucial. Fulham A and Wolves A, anything less than 4 points means we won’t get top 4 for me. Huge moments for our club. Feels like Spurs under Poch, we need to maximise right now because it will all come falling down soon if we don’t.

Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 If our chief players turn up we will win. If Youri, Madders & Barnes are on it. I'm comfortable we will win. But if we let a sloppy one in first we will struggle as like other teams they will sit very deep and we will struggle for space. Let's get out of the traps quick and take it to them.
wardyfox86 Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 (edited) I fear we'll play 3 at the back, a formation BR favours when Wilf isn't available, especially as I don't think he will want Ricardo playing 150 minutes in 4 days: Kasper Albrighton, Amartey, Evans, Soyuncu, Justin Youri, Mendy Madders, Iheanacho, Barnes More hoping he'd start Under in a flexible 3 up top, but won't happen. matty98 Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 What's the point in having Vontae Daley-Campbell on the bench? If a fullback gets injured we bring Thomas on surely? If 2 get injured (very unlikely) you shove Albrighton there as a makeshift fullback. Why not put Wakeling on the bench? 5 goals and an assist in 547 minutes of football is decent and it's not like Perez or Iheanacho are pulling up any trees.

He’s the best player to ever live according to this site. **** Youri he’s always ‘not himself’ as long as Mandy plays we win apperantly despite the stats proving a monumental drop off, but but but ‘he recycles the ball’ 🤣🤣. I reckon if we played the exact same 11 won 10 in a row then swapped Mendy in as 1 change only then lost 10 in a row, ‘you can’t blame Mendy, everyone was poor’ 🤣. If Mendy plays tonight , we drop more points. Don’t all be so suprised on the match thread.

That's what I'm thinking, assuming Castange won't be back for the wolves game, he won't want Ric playing both of those games. Also its the formation we're more successful with without Wilf holding the midfield in front of a back 4. Edited 3 February 2021 by turlo

Popular Post OntarioFox Posted 3 February 2021 Popular Post Posted 3 February 2021 (edited) If Fulham do the double over us, we don't deserve Top 4. That said, I honestly don't think we've been performing badly in our Vardy-less run. We're still creating, playing good stuff and scoring goals. I maintain that the Everton point was a good one, because we always struggle against packed defensive units whether Vards is in the team or not. It was always gonna take one of those speculative shots from Youri or Madders to break their resolve. My fear is that the Leeds game had echoes of Bournemouth last season, in that we played well initially, got the lead, and then proceeded to collapse through self-inflicted, naive defending and individual positioning errors that screamed "poor mentality". This second round of fixtures was what exposed our soft underbelly last year, but - perhaps naively - I hoped to believe that we had matured beyond it, and the signs were certainly there with our ability to rescue points from losing positions this term (including in that game against the Toffees). If it goes well today, I'll write the weekend's game off as a blip, as was the case with that handful of poor home losses earlier in the season. If we perform poorly, I will personally fly back across the Atlantic Ocean and drive to Melton to stitch up Jamie's hernia myself. Edited 3 February 2021 by OntarioFox 5
smr Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 Probably not a popular choice but why not play Nacho instead of Perez. Yes that penalty at Selhurst Park was bloody irritating but up until that point I thought he was doing well for form, his goal to game ratio in the few months running up to that game was really good. Perez was rubbish last game, but then the whole team pretty much were, and I suppose tbf to Perez he did score, albeit, a disallowed goal. 2
Les-TA-Jon Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 Hamza is not better Mendy FFS. Hamza is caught in a bit of no-mans land at the moment. Not progressive with the ball, not good enough at passing, sometimes poor at retaining possession, occasionally reckless in the tackle and sometimes his positioning is woeful 1

He’s not good enough so I’ll say it how it is. It seems to be an offence to criticise ‘sir’ Mendy, yet I’ve seen tons of people on this site criticise other players like recently Perez and it’s not seen as picking on people then. 17 minutes ago, whoareyaaa said: its like listening to the same record over and over again Yeah so you know how I feel. Watching us play with Mendy trotting around in midfield is like watching the same game over and over again. I’m bored of watching us waste our best chance to get CL football and establish us as a club because of crap players. 1 minute ago, smr said: Probably not a popular choice but why not play Nacho instead of Perez. If we bring Nacho and Hamza in for Perez and Mendy we would have a much better chance. Nacho another scapegoat on here who it’s ok to criticise apperantly but he’s been a lot better than Perez on the whole and can hold it up a lot better.
RumbleFox Posted 3 February 2021 Posted 3 February 2021 Fvck it let’s go old school 15/16 title winning season and play four four fvcking two... Kasper Ricardo Evans Soy Justin Albrighton Mendy Tielemans Barnes Perez Nacho 4
