Thanks, I remember being there and applauding you, though we should've been 3-0 up at half-time with the chances we missed ;)

To get 106 points was incredible, that was some team. 99 goals too.

Christ I remember thinking we were heading for a revival under Rob Kelly with Hume and dur dur dur dur Matty Fryatt upfront.

Our run of form under RK that season that lead us to staying up was amazing. I thought for sure we were playoff bound the following year.

How the **** is that 15 years ago. Jesus.

lol I thought that. Remember that day. Also didn't Wigan go up, or nearly go up, at our place too? I'm sure I recall that.

Reading ended up top half of the PL that first season if I recall correctly.

There is a lot to be said for respecting opposition fans and teams when they have done well, like in this situation with Reading but it does make me wonder would we have reacted like the Sunderland fans did against Man U when Man City won the title on the final day. I'm all for respecting opposing fans and teams but I think I draw the line at the likes of Man U.

We played superbly that day, I think Reading were either nervous or comfortable and we should've won it to continue the great form we were in. They got a late equaliser to gain promotion but we felt we could start mixing it with the better sides the next year.

We had a spell of being the opponent at other teams' big days- Arsenal's unbeaten season in 2004, Sunderland's promotion in 2005 and then Reading. On each occasion our fans got praised for being sporting and generous which was good.

Always enjoyed our clashes with the royals. One of the more recent ones was away in the Champ wining season and some mini me ultras letting off a flare in a business park car park lol

It looked for all the world like we were going down before Rob Kelly took over too.

I remember when shef united got promoted at our place. Stood on the wall of the family enclosure (filbert street) having a chat with a couple of their very excited fans as they were all celebrating on the pitch.

106 points was a 2nd tier record I think (we got 103 in 2014?).

Theres been some big moments down on Freeman's Wharf in its short lifetime. Didn't it stage a Conference play-off final one year which, I think, was won by Hereford (might have dreamt that)?

They played in a floresent green kit that day....which made it very hard to tell the stewards apart...Was it 4.1 to them,i seem to remember we took a hammering!

Can’t really remember the score but now you mention it I think we did take a hammering that day, as was per for the course at the time lol

I remember one of them saying to us, “you’re definitely going up next year” lol I think it took a while.

Remember James scowcoft scoring a last min header at the Madejski in the cup. Was a great away end that day. We’ve got Les Ferdinand also missed a sitter. Was literally on the goal line.

Was there the day Reading went up, rob Kelly had us believing again and we should of won that game. Fryatt and Hume where on fire at that time. Went away happy after that, believing we got a chance of going up next year. Until we played Luton first game of the next season and thought we would got relegated.... those were the days
