like the inflatable headmaster, of the inflatable school said to the inflatable boy who brought a pin to school:  You've let me down, you've let the school down and most of all you've let yourself down.

I mean, even if they HAD gone to some house party, surely if Rodgers wanted them to play he could just get them tested no?  Seeing as you can get results in literally minutes I dont see the issue in terms of football playing, apart from them being prats outside of it?

They need to be punished? That’s what BR has done. I would rather us lose the game today than see our players run around on the pitch after breaking covid rules. People are dying every day. It’s not on.

Before these guys are hung out to dry, let's at least have the story confirmed.

Seems people in here moaning are also forgetting that Barnes and our CAPTAIN Morgan were allegedly also part of it.
Be interesting to see the reaction from the management.

Both of those are injured so they don't directly affect the team selection for this game. They will be dealt with accordingly.

Every game right now is huge, the full focus should be on the final 8 league games and the semi-final. I don't think they should be thrown out of the club or pelted with rotten tomatoes but they know this can cause issues and there was just no need for it.

Doubt it, The Premier League will be operating under strict protocol much like other sports.

You’ve seen the same with England cricket players, where they’ve broken a bubble, that player has taken no immediate part in team activities for good reason on both clinical and disciplinary levels.

Let me point this out to the people saying that what they have done isn’t bad.

it’s not a case of breaking lockdown rules and if you agree with them or not. That doesn’t matter.

They will have known what the club rules are. They will Have known that if they are caught breaking them, they will be unable to play. They have decided that this doesn’t matter, and have gone to a party anyway. Therefore, the party was more important to them than playing against WH and potentially solidifying a top 4 place. That’s not how elite athletes should think.

Hamza hardly plays, Ayoze is hit or miss and Praet IMO is a better option anyway, Madders hasnt played for a spells this season so wasnt 100% match fit anyway. Our bench may on the face of it look weaker due to all these youngsters but the way I`ll look at it is its their chance to shine if called upon.

As for the 3 who have allegedly messed-up, no need to waste any more energy on them at this stage and concentrate on those who can help us today.

They are meant to be role models (not that I agree with it, a lot of footballers are idiots), they're being paid millions of pounds a year and they are allowed to socialise at Seagrave already, unlike the rest of the normal folk who have to WFH.

I imagine a few attitudes in here would change if we were to miss out on the CL by a point or two and we lose today, we might end up having to sell someone like Ndidi or Tielemans to cover the gap in finances.

They're grown men, not kids.

Not at all. I can guarantee more than half the people slating them on here have done something similar in the last year.

Were they preparing for a CL showdown then?

Remember this is also about professionalism as much as it is breaking covid rules. If you’ve got a high stake project deliverable at work coming up and you go out on the piss, you may even get fired.

Not sure why you’ve jumped at a defensive tone for them.

If anyone thinks that Brendan is wrong for dropping them when he could have brushed it under the carpet then you seriously need to take a long look at yourselves.

This. It's what makes you as a manager. Has to command respect for the club

If they have gone to a party knowing it could jeopardise their chance of being available for this game, given its importance, I would be happy to see them sold in the summer. If you are doing this, you don’t have the right attitude to compete at an elite level.

Great post.

I wouldn't describe any of them as elite though. Not internationals. Not played at the highest level (champs league). Not won anything. Just another 3 footballers who care about their own brand over anything else. Disappointing....yes. Total knob ends....very much yes.

Wow. I was proud of our side having none of the selfish willy pullers you hear about. Kinda get it with Hamza as he plays football like he has zero brain cells, but surprised by the other 2. What a totally cowardly and selfish thing to do to the fans and their team mates.

Again, nonsense post. People are pissed off at the professionalism more so than the act of covid rule breaking.

I'm not saying that going to the party was ok.

I'm saying that it's embarrassing that most of the people calling them out on it, have probably done the same.
