How the hell did Barcelona get in so much debt despite being so popular globally? Spurs's debt is down to their stadium?

All of it must be down to wages.

Just a poor financial model and I would assume the revenue from TV companies etc is much lower in Spain. But a lot probably down to poor transfer management and massive wage bills.

Man City hands down.

The whole point of the investment by the owners was a sport washing exercise.

They'll be out within days..if not hours.

But why damage their club by joining in the first place? Whatever the result, they will look like t1ts and have shot themselves in the foot.

Man City, they never seemed convinced if they were late to join. Guardiola's comments today didn't strike as somebody at a club who is mad keen for this.

Yea, it's between man city and Chelsea for who blinks first.

But if they tell the other 11 of their intentions to leave before they announce it, it will end up with a unified statement

This guy is a political journalist who is the editor of a newsletter I read every day. He has his ear to the ground and is very knowledgeable about all sorts of stuff, so I would believe this. It also sounds right - two clubs with American owners.

Manchester City. If reports are to be believed, they never wanted anything to do with it in the first place

...if that was the case, why have they signed up to it!!!

They could have been viewed as the saviour of football,  why would they follow like a lost sheep if this was not something they agreed to.

Chelsea pulling out.

I still hope they'll be punished in some form however, there has to be some kind of repercussion to the shitstorm they've been a part of.

Fear of being left behind isnt it?

Meanwhile UEFAs voting through of the Swiss model giving these clubs 90% of what they want has now gone through and will somehow be seen as a victory for smaller clubs. :appl:

Anyone thinking some of them pulling out is a victory is mistaken. Their UCL reforms are still going through. I wouldn't be suprised if it was all planned after all I read somewhere that Spurs started planning their new stadium in 2009 when the rumours of a super league started. Wouldn't be shocked if this was all planned from the very start.

Was it ever for real in the first place? It's impossible to take things at face value these days.

Could the owners of the breakaway clubs and particularly their advisers ever have seriously believed that there would be huge global interest in watching a league from which 3 quarters of the teams could never be relegated? Most of the games would have been glorified friendlies with nothing riding on them.

I'm a tad miffed that we weren't invited to join though, even though I wouldn't have wanted us to accept the invitation. After all, we've got a much higher and more favourable global profile than either Arsenal or Tottenham, or Athletico Madrid for that matter.

They'll be falling over themselves to pull out first soon, ****ing pathetic. They’ll be left with a league of liverpool, Man U, real, and Barca playing each over ten times a season.
