On RL He said we had no right to finish 5th given the level of the clubs resources and given 8th was the fourth best club finish (of the modern era) implied we should be happy. Especially given the injuries.

Matt Pipes commented later that he was remiss in not sorting the set piece and corner issues much sooner though.

 

….on to next season I guess and we can see what recruitment there will be.

I still think he needs to leave but I don't see that happening but the following should be taken out of his hands.

 

Mike Stowell needs to be replaced after all these years Kasper's main weaknesses have shown little improvement and it all feels just too comfortable, recruit a truly top class keepers coach to run that area

 

A set piece coach needs to be appointed and Rodgers is barred from having any involvement

As much as I agree we need new training stuff to freshen it all up, surely someone like Kasper after 10 years can learn to come off a ****ing line 😅 players and coaches need a kick up the jaxxy

.....still the same old mantra!!!

We are lucky to have him here.....he has achieved more than we are entitled to, we are poor financially (despite paying him £10m) and if he was to leave we would find ourselves in league 2 in no time.

  I wonder if Top here's all this, and sits there nodding away, or is in anyway irked by these interviews where he belittles us and "bigs up" himself.

I have no idea why he says this. We have players with assists and goals up there with the top clubs, we have beaten good teams in Europe, we should be in the European places and to not be there is a failure.

I still think we'd be better off going for a new manager, a fresh regime. Having said that I don't think that's the direction the club will be going so I'm just hoping he takes a bit of a look at himself this summer and maybe addresses some of his deficiencies. 

Even the very best managers have their flaws but I just feel at times Brendan isn't willing to look at what he could've done better.

 

If Top feels he's got the right man then he needs backing in the transfer market as I feel this is a really important window for the club with us kind of a at a crossroads at present. For now though everyone needs a break and hopefully we come back stronger

....it all comes back to people doing Rodgers job for him!!!

A new goalkeeping coach is not going to help Kasper, he is far too set in his ways to want to change his approach to the game. It is noticeable that he does come for crosses when we have a lead to protect, otherwise he stays on his line. Stowell has worked with these keepers for sometime now, they have probably all agreed the approach they are going to take in respect of their co-ordination with the defenders, so all the keepers are going to have the same approach to goal keeping.

  Get a set piece coach by all means, he (Rodgers) does need to have some half decent support, but it only means we are shelling out good money for someone who is incapable of doing the job we pay him to do.

Still want him gone but he's saved his job in these last few games. For God's sake Brendan take the ****ing shackles off next season. And let us reach our potential as a group even if it means conceding some cheap goals.

We finished 8th with a terrible list of injuries. We've got some pretty decent youth coming through. How much of a rebuild do we really need?

Yep, Norwich, Watford and Southampton were really tough nuts to crack, as were Champions League bound Everton  ... oh sorry, we lost that one 😁.

Also this thread gets so hot the minute we lose a game, plenty of people just waiting to stick the boot in to, objectively, one of our most successful manages ever.

 

That's not to say I'm not apprehensive about the future. I'm not sure Brendan can turn it around. But I want him to. I am wishing him well. Some people (and not all Rodgers out people) don't want the gaffer to succeed.

I cannot wait for Brendan to start the rebuild using his already impressive track record of bulking up our reserves by plucking overpriced mediocre talent from all-to-willing hands.

It’s important to note Brendan won silverware this season. I for one will always remember the day when we fielded a full strength team to exercise Manchester City’s academy players. Silverware is silverware.
