thats great.

in the mean time we have supposedly substantial wages caught up in someone   We can’t spend on anyone else, who isn’t going to play again, who wants to leave, who has clubs interested.

it’s a realistic possibility we could miss out on someone because we are ‘ holding our rep’ and it’s not about whether There are weeks left in the transfer window, it’s about wether other clubs could be after the same players as us…

Reputation is everything, particularly a PL club. One knock on a club at our level and it will always be remembered and most importantly used against us in future sales therefore dragging them out and making this situation a whole lot worse.

We can't deal with these Turkish clubs like you can the French or German leugues, it's a case of holding the middle finger over them until they agree or don't agree.

Turkish teams like to be or sound angry all the time and are very direct. But as soon as a negotiation is complete, to them, it's like nothing has ever happened and we as a club need to negotiate on our terms but based on the psychology of the Turkish teams way of doing business.

Just reported terms agreed for a permeant switch to Galatasaray. I'm not sure who will be the quickest forgotten, Musa or Ghezzal.

If so, that’s a win-win-win-lose. With the selling and buying clubs and player all happy...and the would-be Daniel Levys of the Turkish League having thrown the race from pole position. Foolish by Besiktas.

Lad's got some balls to flip to the rivals.

Sounds like an idiot. Football allegiances in Istanbul are crazy. He’ll get shit all over the place. Signing for Besiktas would have improved the energy around him wherever he went. Not sure the grief will be worth a couple of fists more of dollars.

Don’t get me wrong, our club is well ran, looks after it’s employees and makes good business decisions…. But business is business and people must have short memories as to how… creative we were securing some sponsorship deals  a few years back. We’ll not care about the psychology of Turkish clubs, we’ll take care of our own club first and foremost.

I’m sure I’d do better and I have a +3 handicap in golf.

I haven't played that in so long, I would become the handicap - oh wait... :P

(EDIT: Now you've made me have to think about golf, dammit. I think the last time I played would have been >10 years ago when I was in Leeds.  I remember my gf and her friends dragging me round a golf course that was all hills, dammit :P)

Musa at least had expectations... Great YouTube highlight reel and those goals against Barcelona in pre-season. He also won that FA Cup tie against Everton. He also somehow or other got sold for cost.

Ghezzal had everyone weeping from his announcement and lived up to those expectations. At the end, we are going to lose money on him.

What is strange is that Ghezzal looks like he has a career ahead of him and Musa is yet to score a goal in the Nigerian league.

If if he was being linked to join us, then this video came out.

Everyone would be clamouring to sign him.

His lack of pace and strength coming into the premier league was always a struggle and is for most players coming from abroad. That and the fact he was a Puel man he was doomed from the start. Hope he gets a move.

....Bertrand looks like a good character to have around the team!!!

Ghezzal looks very relaxed in this environment considering what is going on with the negotiations.

No

Thanks.  I was wondering if we have given him a new contract and pay rise with the Madder's money.😉

Bloody hell changed his mind again, now seemingly going back to Besiktas!

Leicester player makes big U-turn in transfer decision – Contract agreement in place, clubs sorting out fee

Leicester City forward Rachid Ghezzal is now looking likely to return to Besiktas after agreeing to terms with the Turkish club.

That’s according to A Spor, who say the player has made it clear he would prefer a return to Besiktas over a move to the likes of Galatasaray.

Ghezzal was on loan with the Super Lig champions last season and played a key role in their title success, so much so that they are desperate to have him back.

Talks have been ongoing for months, but it appeared he would be heading to rivals Galatasaray after they offered more money to his management.

That was something of a shock, but it seems Ghezzal has now turned around again after another round of talks with Besiktas.

A Spor explain that negotiations have been ongoing for some time with the Algerian star but heated up once Gala made their move, forcing Besiktas to sit down with the Leicester man once again.

They now struck a three-year deal, with the option of a fourth, with the player after a meeting on FaceTime, and will pay him around €2.2m a year but also offer Champions League bonuses.

Ghezzal had made it clear he wanted to return, and it is up to the two clubs to strike a transfer and finalise things.

On that front, Besiktas are talking to Leicester to make that happen, and the transfer is expected to cost between €3m and €3.5m.
