'Pep Guardiola gets green light to pursue Harry Kane as Man City chairman vows to 'send strong message'

City will look to invest in at least two key areas this window and are also looking at Aston Villa's Jack Grealish as a potential signing'

What the strong message? We buy our way to success year after year ?

Eddie Howe really an everton fan?

Yeah he was. Everton another typical team throwing money to buy success which has spectacularly failed. I remember when Sigurdson was heavily linked to us and then he went their for £40mil and clearly wasn't worth that amount of money but a decent player nonetheless.

Why can’t Poch simply resign?  Will obviously cost him money but can PSG take legal action to prevent him taking another job ?  Surely not ??

on a different note, it could well be that ancelotti had a ‘super club’ clause where a handful of clubs making an approach triggered a release from his contract

The whole Everton view on Ancelotti is well over the top . Talk of him been a Ferrari of a manager and any new manager is a downgrade.

Talking like he'd just got them to Europe and maybe won a cup, they finished 10th !

Of course they can. He can resign and they can refuse to accept it and then either replace him (but have him see out his time in the garden) or insist he simply manages the club.

Yes and no. He can resign but PSG can say no and block him from taking another job. PSG in that case would almost certainly take action against Spurs for tapping up in that case. Tapping up only works (although still not allowed) if you keep all parties happy ie pay compensation. There’s also usually clauses in managers contracts that if they resign they can’t take another job without permission from PSG for the length of the contract, but that will depend on the contract itself and local employment law.

Well the contract concerned will be subject to french employment law so I would think it would come under the EU jurisdiction still. Employment law is always really complicated especially when it’s a deal between countries. Spurs and PSG will have lawyers advising them and I’m sure Spurs will know they’ll have to be very cautious legally. My instinct without knowing the specifics of french law would be that Poch couldn’t just resign and take the Spurs job without it ending up in the courts and PSG benefitting very well financially out of it

Chelsea are ruthless ain't they? Just continue to sack mangers but always manage to win something pretty much every other year.

The money helps. Abramovich is the 102nd richest person in the world.

Surely they'll just negotiate a fee. Why waste money on lawyers?
