If they keep Kane then the task isn't quite as huge to perhaps turning them in to a team that could win cups and possibly challenge for the league. The defence is dog shit and they need to tinker with the midfield but up top they are sorted.

Tarkowski to Spurs seems very logical.

Liverpool is also very impressive. In fact more impressive than us. £120m net spend in 5 years and they've won the 2 big trophies. You have to respect Klopp for turning decent but not great players like Wijnaldum, Gomez, Firmino etc into champions.

Wijnaldum is a superb player! He was unbelievable even at Newcastle. Didnt know much about Gomez but I remember him being highly rated at Charlton was it?

Firmino is the player that Rodgers thought he was signing in Perez lol

I think the management merry go round will end up like this

Eddie Howe > Crystal Palace

Antonio Conte > Tottenham Hotspur

Graham Potter > Everton

Bruno Lage > Wolves

Frank Lampard > Brighton

Nuno I think will take a break over the summer, I'd keep an eye what happens at Southampton if the Saints, don't get off to a good start we could see them wanting a new manager maybe Nuno's return then.

If we had a vacancy I would take any of those over Nuno. Not to say they are better (a few are IMO) but I don’t want to watch Nunos style of football. It would be like Puel all over again but worse

The system allows the top six to threaten the existence of the other clubs, however, by threatening to pull the plug on the TV money.

I don’t mind successful clubs being successful but English football as a whole, not simply the Premier League, should benefit.

Otherwise the top six pull away massively, the Premier League to a lesser extent pulls away, and English football is left to rot.

The reason this club is a fairytale is because the system it exists within is rotten.

If a regulator can redress the imbalance, so fans and clubs around the country can see an improvement, then great. But I can’t see the gov doing shit for anyone except the billionaires, the globally famous league, its money and its reputation; why would they?

But the top 6 pull away because of commercial revenue, not what they earn in the PL? The TV revenue within the PL is arguably the fairest across any of the top leagues and it why the big 6 have been gobbing off about wanting a bigger cut of it Like most powerhouses would get in their leagues and what used to happen.

I'll be gutted if Spurs get Conte. He's legitimately top drawer. It's the appointment that everyone thought Mourinho was going to be. Hopefully he sees sense.

No way he goes there. Will wait for a top job. Conté isn't an idiot.

It's being reported everywhere that he is advanced talks. If he wasn't interested there wouldn't be any talks. All the top jobs are gone-Barca, Madrid, Munich, City etc Spurs have an amazing stadium and facilities and a decent top 6 squad. With some decent signings especially defensively, they could be a good side. Conte takes big clubs who have underachieved and turns them round. Did it at Juve, Chelsea and Inter. Absolutely amazing appointment for Spurs if they get him, he's the best they could ever hope for. Only thing with him is he doesn't stay anywhere long 2 to 3 years it seems. But still, I'd fancy them to be a proper side and not a banter club while he's in charge.

Agree 100% - whatever he does he takes the players with him. Spurs have good players and a deep squad. If they get him then I can see Kane sticking around for another year ......

Oh Kane will see Conte as a top coach who can bring honours and top players to the club no doubt. Still, Man City are going to go big for a striker and it will be him or Haaland I reckon. Going to be a fascinating summer of transfers and manager changes.

Conte is a top drawer manager but all the clubs he's won trophies at are clubs that should win trophies in their respective countries. Spurs are a curious one, there's no guarantee due to the experience and size of Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Leicester.

This would represent his biggest challenge yet.

he'd surely be expecting a reasonable size transfer budget too and other guarantees too before he accepts it

also reports they Spurs are after a sporting director too

Hmm, I think we're forgetting that Wolves were actually very good to watch in the first year and a half after promotion. It's just been the last 18 months or so where they've been pretty honking and that may have something to do with their long European campaign and then losing a few of their best players to transfers and injury.

Conte will win Spurs the new European budget cup, that's probably guaranteed.

I think he's an excellent manager and managed to get a tune out of Eriksen at Inter Milan, but that Spurs squad as it stands have a lot of weaknesses, making it even more annoying to lose to them on the final day!

He's won trophies everywhere he's been, but the Premier League is the most competitive league by miles. Perhaps they can catch us, but I think the squads of the teams that finished above us are way too strong. Man United may well sign Sancho and Varane this summer and so will essentially spend their way out of trouble again, Liverpool surely won't have as many injuries and the Chelsea and Man City squads are stacked before considering any reinforcements they may bring in.

As is stands, 5th place again would be a very good finish for us, perhaps this time round focussing on Europa League over FA Cup given that winning it gets you into the Champions League and neither Leicester nor Rodgers has won a European trophy yet. We'll have to see what our squad looks like one the transfer window is closed to make further comment I suppose!

I’m not having that. They’ve been boring to watch all along. The difference was that they were winning so no one talked about it. It’s like big Sam at Sunderland or Moyes at West Ham. If they win people don’t mind a boring style of play.

Anyone slating another side for being boring is deluded. We've been shocking to watch for the last 5 months of the season, espeically with the back three.

If Liverpool have VVD, Matip, Sanchez and Henderson fully fit they will be the team to stop next season . However they won't run away with it this time. Man.City will be back with the pack . Chelsea will be tough to beat and Aubamayang will surely have a better season. Man. Utd. will be much the same. So its going to be a challenging season. Bring it on.

Whether you think they were boring or not, they were better to watch than a Sam Allardyce team.
