We seem able to consistently pip the likes of Chelsea and Man U to these youngsters . Good news for the clubs youth set up

Yep, any young player who is advised well and is willing to learn and develop and eventually get a first team chance is more likely to join us than the likes of United and Chelsea. They just hoard youth talent (especially Chelsea) and often they end up going nowhere in their careers. Players know they will have a better path to first team football at leicester than any of the big greedy feckers.

I'd like to believe that.

I'm not sure though. The evidence in favour isn't conclusive when we have an antediluvian coach running the U-23s and haven't played the loan system (historically) as well as we should have, eg Tavares.

More chance of getting noticed in our academy though as squads don’t seem huge like Man City Chelsea man United s etc. Only a game but only have to check youth squad sizes when you first set up a football manager game to see they have way too many, no way players can develop properly.

Yes I think there have been mistakes made but hopefully we will learn from them and keep improving the youth system. We have had more successes recently than we have had previously though with the likes of Barnes, Chilwell, Hamza, Thomas and KDH. Do think we keep some players for too long though when it's clear they are never going to be good enough. You're right as well, that we need to get better with the loans. Barnes and KDH have really benefitted from loans but others like Tavares, for whatever reason haven't. On the flip side, you have Chelsea who over stock on youth talent and loan them out for years and years and often they never even end up playing for Chelsea. They clearly have a system that is aimed at making them money, rather than them actively promoting numerous youth players into the first team.

When was the last time one of these “highly rated youngsters” actually develop into a good player? I’m sure we’ve signed a few before who just fester in the development squad and then vanish.

For the amount we'll have paid, it's worth the risk

We know we've arrived when we're beating the big clubs to these young Talents. For years there is no way they would have signed for Leicester.

Even if a only a small percentage of them make the step up to stardom, the money we can save is phenomenal, Driving the Club still further.

And those who don't quite make it we can still sell on for decent money. A win win all round.

Not sure what I’ve missed.
Something about Grist.
I’m just a bit too pissed.
Any way, who has Madders kissed?

Did he really use his fist?

There's bound to be a twist...

Jesus Grist!..

Never heard of him 😂

If he's any relation to Nicky he should be able to navigate his way in midfield. 😋

There are some ‘Special’ ones in that KUMB thread about us.

I’m not convinced there’s just one sad individual somewhere who is registered on every football forum who just churns out the same Administration BS every time we get mentioned. I’ve seen it in numerous places it’s almost like a copy and paste job.
