It's been a fantastic season, its just that we missed out on top four being in it virtually all season but I'd rather we won the FA Cup so I'm happy with our overall performance. We've got every chance of competing for europe again next season!

Ended behind four clubs who have spent outrageous amounts of money and have a weird fvcking fan base each to boot. It sucks but I’ll take it.

I know we could've had both, but I would've been much more disappointed by a cup final defeat than 5th place. The only regret is that the final wasn't the last game.

The football gods giveth, the football gods taketh away.

We won the FA cup! Don't wanna reap too much good football karma in one go.

Sensational season. Can't wait to actually play with a full strength team again one day as I don't think it happened once all season.

Keep it up lads. All we need to do is keep it up and this is Vichai's dream come true already.

If our fa Cup final win had been at the end of the season, like it should have been, there would have been little talk about us not making top 4. Because the last game of the season ended in defeat to spurs and ended our champions league hopes, it makes the season look worse than it was. Also, the fact its happened 2 years in a row does hurt. Perspective is however required. An fa Cup win and a 5th place finish with a depleted squad (which was already paper thin compared to the "big 6") is a fantastic achievement. I just hope we don't lose the likes of Youri (or even Brendan) and fail to sign our key targets as a result of not getting champions league football.

It would have been less disappointing to finish 8th and win the FA Cup (other than the extra money we would miss out on). Would be in no worse position. Not sure if the players can react to this disappointment again. Although we tend to have a good season after a disappointment. Post Watford, post last season etc.

So what do we win next year, League Cup? Maybe the EL (although that would take some serious luck but why not, in it to win it)? FA Cup again very unlikely. Or maybe just the Community Shield?

I signed on this morning feeling pretty okay after yesterday, not the ending we wanted but it is what it is and we have an FA Cup!!!! Didn't realise so many others have taken it so hard lol Maybe I'm out of touch!

Vichia would be happy. "Leicester City: Billionaire owner 'will spend £180m' to make top five"

Srivaddhanaprabha added: "I am asking for three years, and we'll be there.

"We won't take the huge leap to challenge the league's top five clubs immediately.

"Do we have a chance to beat them? Yes, we have, but I think we need to establish our foothold in the league first and then we think about our next step.

Everyone processes things differently. I am envious of those who can just push everything aside but for me I struggle to get over certain situations in minutes/hours. I was on a high from last weekend for a couple of days. Yesterday will take a few days to sink in. It's days like yesterday where I wish I didn't care about football because it's more pain than joy, especially supporting Leicester. The mediocre days were much easier on the body but I do enjoy the current drive of being a team that can challenge.

I do wish there were no EUROs this summer, I need a proper break. Supporting Germany is probably not a good thing. But maybe it will give me a mental break from Leicester to be ready for next season.

What also doesn't help is having to watch games on TV. I cannot stand it as I get more wound up. In the ground I can cope with it much better.

Onwards and upwards.

I think the point is that if someone had said to us at the start of the season that we'd be 5th place and FA cup winners we'd bite that hand off and be over the moon with it.

Being in the top 4 all season and then missing out obviously is very disappointing and basically we didn't get that cherry on top of the cake. But we got the cake so there you go! Depends if you wanted to the cake or the cherry more!

Absolutely despise the Chelsea twats on LCFC's social media. Plastics

Me too. The only way to look at this is that we hurt them quite deeply at Wembley. If their behaviour is the cost of that, I’ll take it.

Man City. Premiership, Will beat Chelsea in CL Final.
Man Utd. Might Win European Cup

Leicester. FA Cup

Liverpool. Nothing

Chelsea. Nothing

Spurs. Nothing

Arsenal. Nothing

Has our season been that bad.

No.

I can understand people feeling a bit flat, but Jesus wept - 5th and the FA Cup is outstanding.

tbf in a 6 months....2 yrs time who looks back and says,

"wow, we came 4th in 2021, what a year"

while getting so close and not getting in the top 4 is a bit disappointing, we cant lose sight of how far weve come and how well we have done this season to finish 5th(considering our home form and injuries) and to win the FA Cup

while the disappointing feeling will go, this season has been a  good one for us

EL may not be the failure so many think. Little improvement year on year makes top 4 achievable in the future. My fear playing in the CL next season was that we bomb out at the group stage and end up in the EL anyway, but our league form suffers and we end up 9th or worse in the league, with an exodus of star players at the end of next season.

If we can hold onto key players and add 4 or 5 players who are either better than what we release/sell, with greater physicality, or that bit of experience that will help the younger players (that's why I think Bertrand and Tarkowski would be shrewd additions) then I think we will see progress again over the coming years.

Like others have said, winning the FA cup is now part of our history and a millstone removed from around our neck. People will remember the emotions of that day for years to come, not that we finished 5th.

We all know it’s been a great season, there is no doubting that, but we’ve had a few golden opportunities to make it an unbelievable season and we’ve blown the lot.

That’s fine, it doesn’t make us a bad team or Rodgers a bad manager, but it’s also quite hard to take at this moment in time.

As Rodgers alluded to post match its hugely disappointing, glad to see he feels the same way about it. I think the players were going through the motions we didn’t really play with intensity when it mattered and it cost us.

Definitely need some more first team players as squad options. This summer is going to be crucial for us going forward. We probably need about 5-6 signings.

That's a fair response! Ive worked in football and the stress of it aged me well beyond my years, I also wasn't great to be around if the team I worked for had lost for a couple of days. I guess that's why I can maybe take it a lot easier as a fan now. I definitely wouldn't have let this wash over me as easy 10 years or so ago.

We will go again but I agree a summer of not worrying about football would be great.

Agree with this. It’s been mentally gruelling. Partly because nearly every match has been scheduled individually and so you have to undergo worry about a West Ham result, followed by a Chelsea result followed by a Man Utd result etc, etc. Normally a set of result is over in one session.

I went yesterday and although it wasn’t a great experience, don’t think we ever looked comfortable after Fofana went off, even when we were leading, the fact that every one around you feels the same way does help. Not the case watching on TV alone.

mind you listening on the radio is even worse. They can make goal chance seem like a near miss but when you’re watching you can see they’re not that close.

Seeing Tielemans waving to everyone at the end didn’t really help. Just need a break now.

It's been a good season yes especially looking at our injuries but the manner of 2 5th placed finished after being in the top 4 for 95% of the time is a sore one.

It wouldn't fill you with confidence if we are 2nd at the end of January next season that we will finish top 4.

The FA Cup was massive but in terms of league I'd almost prefer having West Hams season than ours.

I think it that if we had started the season poorly and then rallied like West Ham with a strong finish to get into Europe we would be feeling so much better this morning although the end result is similar.

I think the first 11 when fit should be playing Champions League football but unfortunately the squad is not at that level. Having said that I cannot remember a season like it with injuries particularly in defence. We will be labelled as bottlers but I think it is harsh this year as we have so many games with major injuries. It has still been a really good season.

Whilst it stings to be in the top four all season bar the final week, isn't it the case that Liverpool always had games in hand on us?  Therefore the final picture only becomes apparent when the games are all played and we were in a false position.

Does that help?
