....if you see at other grounds, other teams get really good support!!!

They’re growing their support, I’m sure a lot of people have only become aware of them over the last season or two. However it’s been unfortunate that a couple of their home kick off times have clashed with the mens otherwise I’m sure they’d have pulled a few more in.

...the fact that they are not consistently playing a home match in one place does not help!!!

They need to be playing in the City and have a ground of their own. That would take some finance, but we have acquired new spaces (old Eon) building or the car park where the old ground used to be.

Perhaps they can play in the Arena if it's big enough pitch wise.

He was nice bloke and did remarkably well to get us promoted in such a short space of time.

Sadly it's a results business and just seems out his depth in the top division. Club are probably looking that there is still a shot at staying up if we can pull a couple of positive results out the bag

Leicester City Statement: Jonathan Morgan Leaves LCFC Women

PRESS RELEASE

Published 1 hr 31 mins ago

1 MinuteReading time

Leicester City confirms the departure of Jonathan Morgan from his role as LCFC Women First Team Manager.

The Football Club would like to place on record its thanks to Jonathan for everything he has helped the Club to achieve during his time as manager, which included promotion to the FA Women’s Super League as FA Women’s Championship winners.

Assistant Manager Michael Makoni and First Team Coach Holly Morgan also depart with the Club’s best wishes for their future careers.

Holly, who transitioned to a coaching role at the end of last season, came through the Academy ranks to eventually captain the side before her retirement from playing.

All three have played an important role in the development of LCFC Women, particularly since the Club turned professional following its acquisition by King Power in August 2020.

Retention of its FA Women’s Super League status is central to the Club’s vision for the long-term development of women’s football in the city. The Club feels a change in leadership is now necessary to give the team the best possible chance of achieving this in the remaining months of the season.

Jonathan Morgan said: “This Club has been part of mine and my family’s life for 12 years from when my sister Holly Morgan joined as a young player. To have taken Leicester from the Midlands Division 1 to a FAWSL club gives me nothing but pride. Earning promotion last season in the manner we did will always be a memory I can share with the fans and the city.

“This season has been disappointing, with injuries contributing to a difficult start, but we haven’t achieved the results we had hoped for.

“I wish the Club, the staff and the players my very best.”

Head of Women’s Football Development Emile Heskey will oversee First Team training in preparation for the team’s fixture against Manchester United in the Continental Cup on Sunday 5 December, while the Club undertakes the process of appointing a new manager.

There will be no further comment on the matter until that process is complete.

Sad for Morgan to leave something that has been your and your family life.

However, once you take the king’s coin you are his servant.

top bloke by all accounts but didn't seem up to the WSL, good luck to him

.....the team looked a lot better in the last game, strange that this has happened now!!!

Looked very organised, especially in the first half and it seems that they had got a grip on being competitive in this league. We were not offering much upfront, as we were not keeping much of the ball, when we did get it.

The change of shape and style would have been useful at the start of the season, where we could have built on this new innovation.

Heskey stepping in now, will give himself sometime to implement some way of making us more of a threat going forward. We lack pace all round and he is going to have a massive job on his hands to give us any hope of being able to stay within this league.

It will be interesting to see who they appoint, but it's difficult to think of anyone with a recent record of success who would be interested and available.

Scott Booth and Willie Kirk are probably the biggest names amongst available managers with recent WSL experience - Booth has less but was very successful in Scotland and does have the advantage of having previously been at Birmingham and therefore having inside knowledge of the one opponent Leicester really need to beat.  Both of them having been sacked this season isn't the greatest recommendation of course, though I don't think Booth was given a fair crack of the whip at a mess of a club.  Gemma Davies and Marcus Bignot who were both at Villa last year could be outside possibilities.

I don't think there is anyone in the Championship that stands out.  Maybe an overseas candidate, but would they want to move countries to join a club staring relegation in the face? Could there be a player towards the end of their career who could also add experience on the pitch?  There are also a few former players such as Fara Williams and Rachel Yankey who have been doing some coaching within the England age groups.

In summary: who knows?!

......one of, if not the most exciting ladies player that I have ever seen!!!

She was the female version of Ryan Giggs, terrific talent, can go pass a player, ran with pace but had the tendency to be greedy. Sometimes when you have that flair and praise coming from all sides, there is the likelihood that the player takes it all on board.

She splits opinions and it would be safe to say, she is not a too popular figure within the game.

Why do you say that?  I've never seen any evidence of her being unpopular.

I’m more worried about the comparison to Ryan Giggs.
