  1. 1. Who are bigger?

Most of my life Arsenal have always been by far the biggest and most successful London club. When will it be universally acknowledged that Chelsea are the 3rd biggest English club now? Or will they never get full credit because of how they achieved all this success?

Arsenal are the biggest club. Chelsea are the best team.

2 Champions Leagues and 2 Europa Leagues in the last decade + 5 PL titles since Arsenal last won theirs. I think Chelsea don't get the full respect due to how they achieved this success but their trophy haul is unbelievable.

It is, absolutely. But then the fifteen years before that Arsenal won 5 titles, many FA Cups, a European trophy.

Chelsea are clearly a top club but I still think they've a way to go overall to be bigger than Arsenal.

Chelsea are easily the biggest club in London. Arsenal are now the aging rock star still doing concerts but playing old songs to grey haired old ladies.

Natural fanbase i.e locals who support Arsenal in London would be bigger than the amount of Chelsea you'd think, what with their stadium & culture being based where it is added to the appeal & extent of what they achieved 20 years ago.

But yeah Chelsea are a bigger Club on a global scale now, in terms of brand relevance & global fanbase. Say in another 15-20yrs though Arsenal get their act together, win a couple of big trophies ... then what it's then swung back, surely?

They're both comparable. It really depends on the circumstances at the time. Like 40 years ago Forest were bigger than us; couldn't say so now.

I've heard this same thing pop up in a podcast recently, Chelsea personalities coming out with the same line "Chelsea are unequivocally the kings of London" I think I heard somewhere - it's just to get discussions going in YouTube comments and Twitter. It's a question designed to encourage large & benile discourse on their social media pagess.

Could you even split it? Arsenal are far greater domestically but Chelsea's European heritage is huge compared to Arsenal (6 trophies to 2).

Arsenal haven't won a league title in nearly 20 years.

A few FA Cups in that time, granted, but no Champions League.

I've always said, historically, Arsenal are the biggest club after Man Utd and Liverpool but right now I'd say Chelsea are.

Historically it’s Arsenal. Right now the draw out of them both is Chelsea.

Arsenal could get their house in order and have one good season and they'd be called the biggest club again. That for me says how big they actually are. This conversation wounldn't be happening if Arsenal aren't where they are in the league.

Echo a few others, who cares ?

Spurs, Arsenal & Chelsea all have similar size support in and around london, west ham not even close.   Liverpool & man u are far and away the 2 biggest clubs in the land, but given theyre both the original clubs of choice for the armchair, glory hunting, bandwagon jumper and frankly, i wouldnt want their fans.  Mugs the lot of them.

All goes in cycles anyway, look at Forest.
