I know Schmeichel will be disappointed with the goal but it was very close to him and he had to adjust, a yard either side and he saves it comfortably.

To be honest when all that was going on earlier I very selfishly thought “Christ please don’t let Kasper witness another death”… I know players are well supported these days but I’d have no idea how he’d cope with two tragedies in close proximity. I wasn’t surprised at all to see him make a “mistake” probably mind elsewhere etc.

Can’t believe Praet wasn’t used much towards the end of the season… think he is a better option than Perez that is for sure

Yeah it’s a joke Praet would’ve saved top 4 for us easily

So Denmark had two choices, tonight or tomorrow at midday. They chose tonight. They had the option to delay, but didn't. As the manager says there were emotionally done, but it seems clear they wanted it out the way.

Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand: "First of all, if it gets emotional, it's been a tough night. We are all reminded of what the most important thing in life is - to have valuable relationships, people we're close to, our family and our friends.

"We have a group of players that I cannot praise enough. I couldn't be prouder of those people who took such good care of each other. He is one of my very dear friends, the way the players talked in the dressing room to decide to not do anything before we knew Christian was conscious and OK.

"We had two options to play the game [today] or tomorrow at 12pm and everyone agreed to play today. You can't play a game with such feelings. We tried to win. It was incredible they managed to go out and try to play the second half.

“Honestly, there were players out there that were completely done. Emotionally done and emotionally exhausted.”

Why was the lukaku goal allowed? He was offside. It that was in the prem it’s disallowed within seconds..... I understand why it wasn’t but I find it odd

New phase of play so not offside.

Was on my way to town listening to the Denmark game, made me feel physically sick.

I’ve been on a pitch when that has happened, the person wasn’t as lucky as Ericksen, and how on earth they have even been asked to finish that game tonight is beyond me. Complete irrelevance that result and the rest of the tournament for that Denmark team.

It's this weird rule that if the defender tries to play the ball then you're not offside. What it means though is you can stand offside and the defender in the heat of the moment tries to clear the ball, slices it and you're in on goal. There was one last season, think it was Villa v Newcastle (definitely Newcastle). Cross from the left, striker I assume Watkins if its Villa is slightly offside. Schar stretches to clear it, can't and just gets a toe to it. Goes straight to Watkins and he scores. If Schar leaves that its no goal. Basically Shar can't win.

Check out the Man City goal against Villa where the same happens to mings. That was in the premier league and was allowed to stand. It’s the rules whether they are right or wrong.

I’d understand that if the fella controlled it took two touches then Rom tackled him and smashed it in.

but due to the mis control almost landing at his feet, where he was offside in the previous phase of play, shouldn’t he still be deemed offside?

I just know in the prem that’s disallowed.

Yes I remember that one but it was slightly different wasn’t it because something intentional happened where the ball was played forwards inadvertently if I am not wrongness?
