I'm surprised by how poor Russia have been. Granted, I haven't watched them really since 2018, but I expected more quality than this.

They’re not using drugs this tournament.

Seeing as most of them play in Russia, I wasn't so sure :sweating: But even drugs will not improve technique or tactics.

Edit: ... And they score :crylaugh:

Impressed by this Finnish O'Shaughnessy lad, doing very well against Dzyuba

lol Typical, he immediately gets done. Still looked decent so far

I had to look him up on Wikipedia because that name isn’t very Finnish. He played for Cheltenham once upon a time

I did the same when we played them, had a double take.

They've got another one called Robert Taylor and I'm sure there was one with Scottish parents as well.

All born and raised in Finland. No idea.

Nah, it's the third most common surname after Hakkola and Lehtinen

Very weird considering Finland doesn’t even exist

I actually want to buy one of those and I'm 0% Finn.

Nobody is, Finland is a fake country.

Not sure that is quite appropriate, but it's a nice sentiment and gesture, of course.
I think I would've been just fine if the fans made something.

A nice thought  but what if Belgium are through on goal in the 10th minute?

Will they suddenly stop.

I have seen this before - games stop mid way through for a minutes applause but usually when someone has passed away which fortunately of course Eriksen hasn’t.

Lukaku mentioned that he and his teammates have 'made something' for Eriksen which he will give to Kjær and Schmeichel before the game.
Lukaku himself has been in contact with Eriksen as well.

So it seems more like a stunt to show the world that he/his teammates 'care'.

Personally not a fan, but I guess in a morbid way, fans and onlookers will expect something 'special' for this game so a 10th minute clap is probably an easy way to avoid negative press.

I am quite surprised we're getting very personal medical information about Eriksen. I hope he's given his consent throughout.
Just reading up on an ICD, you can still do sports after 1-2 months, but I don't know if he can do it at elite level? I wouldn't be surprised if we see a retirement from pro football, which would be a huge shame. However, the main thing he's still around and will be a functional father and husband.

People want to know. Was similar to what happened to Muamba. There was just as much media coverage for that.

I would personally be very surprised if he played football again. For a start I think it would go against any medical advice, you’d also find it hard to come by anyone who would medically insure him now, too.
