Leicester prioritising Yves Bissouma in the event of Wilfred Ndidi departure

Fabrice Hawkins reports that Premier League side Leicester City are prioritising Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, in the event that Nigerian international central midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is to depart the Foxes this summer.

Brighton are seeking €35m for the ex-Lille man, with other Premier League clubs interested in his services.

The Leicester board view the arrival of Boubakary Soumaré as separate to the Ndidi situation and that the current Lille man, who is joining for €25m including bonuses, is not seen as a replacement for the Nigerian.

The reporter adds that LCFC like RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku, but the ex-PSG man wishes to remain in the Champions’ League.

I don't like that sentence "in the event that...Ndidi is to depart the Foxes this summer."

Worst part is it could happen, with both Manchester clubs on the look out for a CDM.

Both have more pressing needs and both are aware of our fortitude on the pricing of our assets

Agree about pricing. They know Little old Leicester will not have their pants taken down. Those days are over. We learnt from Kante.

Cant see ndidi leaving. He seems content and nobody will be able to afford him.

The interesting part is if we are looking at Nkunku as that is a very high calibre winger/attacking mid. Its exciting if that is the stature of player we are looking at.

I rate this guy , every time I’ve seen him play he’s been very good . That said I’d prefer to keep Wilf but if he was to leave he’d be a good replacement.

Wouldn't hate it if this guy replaced Wilf to be fair. Does a similar job but is better on the ball.

Ndidi never seems to be targeted by top teams and I think it'll always his be his lack of top quality confidence/ability on the ball.

to be fair, we probably have replacements earmarked for every single one of our first 11 Simply so we don’t get caught out on anythjng

I'm sure we have targets for replacements for every position.

Of course this particular topic is a moot point when Ndidi isn't going anywhere.

Really not concerned about Wilf leaving. He loves it here as reflected in that really long deal he signed, he is playing with his best mate who just signed a contract extension, and presumably he's still working on his degree at DMU?

.....that factor did come to mind when reading this topic!!!

You can continue the course remotely, like all students up and down the country.

They definitely know we won’t be walked Over on price, if we can sell a fridge for £80m just wondering the price stance on Ndidi £80-90m+ ?

Fake news.

Getfootballnewsfrance has popped up in a few threads recently. They churn out articles to get higher on search engines and get that sweet sweet ad revenue.

They abide by the Family Guy storyline manatees.

I still think Wilf goes under the radar across the league, and I just don't see who would buy him.

Man City have Fernandinho, Rhodri (and Gundogan, who at times has played a deep lying role), Liverpool have Keita, Fabinho and Henderson, Chelsea have Kante and Jorginho and Utd have Van de Beek, Pogba, Fred and Mctominay. Arsenal and Spurs don't have the funds imo.

I'm not saying they're all the same players, but how many other teams are going to be able to afford what we want for Wilf? Surely nothing short of £50m would suffice, and it would take more like £60-70m Ito actually get us to consider it. Does any other club in the world value him that much? I'm not sure they do.

Depends on the course. A lot of courses where I work there wouldn't be the option for that. Anyhow, main point is that he seems committed to us long term.

Seems fine to me. Unless we’ve got another unknown up our sleeve he’s the absolute perfect replacement for when Wilf goes.

I think this might be his last season, been here a while now and stock is high… but I’ve no concerns over him leaving this summer

60-70?? £85+ makes more sense.

It’s standard stuff

You must have replacements lined up in case you get an offer that simply cannot be turned away

Basouma is leaving Brighton this summer - I assume this leak (and there have been others) is to drive up either his fee or his deal at Arsenal
