This was his only decent scoring season of his career to date, and the fact that he was in the final year of his contract would have meant that Wolfsberger likely just cashed in while his stock was as high as it could be, before losing him on a free.

 

Daka has done it over 2 seasons, is over 2 years younger aswell I guess.

Even if we don't sign him it's obvious now why Rodgers was so bullish about staying. He knew he was getting the backing he wanted.

I think, regarding the comments of Wether he would come to us or not, is putting our club and how they've progressed, down a bit. 

 

Obviously this isn't done and we might all end up disappointed, but we must now be an incredibly appealing club for young players to go to. 

 

They get game time, paid very well, training ground (goes without saying), work with a high profile manager that has a track record of developing young talent and we've won trophies in recent years. 

 

They would now team up with mostly young players with a really high ceiling and get the opportunity to go up to a higher regarded club if they play well and, of course, the price is agreeable with Leicester. 

 

And not forgetting the wonderful owners that look after them really well👌💙

Great that everyone is excited and this is a tremendous deal, but hold your horses just a bit. As is typical of Leicester, this is a young player with bags of potential who if coached correctly could hit the big time. Players like JJ, Maddison and Soyuncu took a while to get going and whilst I think Daka will adapt faster, I wouldn’t expect a Fofana like seamless transition. We’ve brought this guy to take over from Vardy, most likely next season. I expect JV to be in pole position this, but by the back end of the season see Vardy more as an impact substitute. 
 

But of all realistic signings we could possibly have made, this was probably the best. Exciting times!

Mbappe and Haaland and the best two players under 23 years old. You can’t see past them being this generations Ronaldo / Messi at the moment. 
 

I’m still amazed that we got Mahrez and Vardy even into a conversation for Ballon Dor. I’d highly doubt Daka will ever feature. His numbers are good, however not off the chart. 
 

This is a good signing for us, his goals / game ratio is similar to Mane for Salzburg.

his stats are way better than Mane's at salzburg in terms of goal. and 27 goals in 28 games isnt off the charts for you?

You must be pretty astonished he's close to joining given the lack of CL you like to keep reminding everyone about?

 

Elite footballer, our reputation is starting to make the recruitment of other top young players much easier, like how Dortmund manage to do it year on year. Long may it continue here.

Haaland scored 17 in 16 before he moved to Dortmund… Daka scored 27 in 28, those are close. Haaland also only played for Molde before, Daka is being talked about in a similar bracket. The fact is his stats are off the chart though

I have been banging in about Malen for an age because I thought he was probably more likely a signing we could make. Didn’t think Daka would be possible. Either of them is dreamland.
