This is going to make things interesting. Obviously it’s very unlikely we’ll get near Coutinho but Barcelona’s financial situation could open up some other opportunities.

Still don't see it being us.

Trying to just get rid of players for free as well aren't they? I know they are trying to release Umtiti and Pjanic (wouldn't touch either of them)

Should try and get a cheeky deal with them for Coutinho

Anyone know of any other clubs that are in the running for him? If not I'd accept a year loan for £150k per week.

If anything, this makes it LESS likely we would get him IMO.

For him to come here on loan, Barca would of had to pay a % of his wages.... but getting wages off the payroll is what they need to do so they would surely want him to go to a club who can pay all of them.

I can't see them finding someone to pay all of his wages though, close to £400k a week

Best they are going to get is someone paying a portion of it with a loan fee - which in their current situation would be better than having to keep him for around for another season

I could see him going to Everton. It’s their sort of signing and he’ll fit right in with Richarlason, Rodriguez etc

You mean a picture with his arm around a girl? Hardly a shower of shite is it? He knows as well as anyone that he needs to perform this year.

Thanks for clarifying that bizarre post. I thought maybe City had pulled a crafty friendly while I wasn't looking! I suspect there are plenty of other Prem players doing exactly the same thing  at this time :).

After yesterday’s shower of shite from Maddison ‘AGAIN’ sell to arsenal and get this guy

Why would Arsenal recruit a someone with an unresolved and potentially career-ending injury and why would City take a decided risk on an expensive and unreliable player.

One thing is sure here - Barcelona are a shadow of the club they were six years ago. They're a disgrace to football.

Better the devil you know , especially as we would need to fork out another 175 ,000 a week. We are not that stupid.

Thank you for reminding me, I knew I had someone that needed ignoring :)

You seem to be going through a mildly intolerant phase HPF, is this a concious off season type thing?   lol

Does that include Messi, who's contact has expired?

It's insane that there actually appear to be people who believe football players aren't even allowed to have fun

Who is saying that? Footballers by their very position are in the public eye, and this will always attract (often over the top)criticism, just as film stars, NBA stars, etc do.

Basically such roles are judged  by the kangaroo court of public opinion, it might not be right, but its hardly a suprise.

It's quite possible that this is also why Messi hasn't extended his contract yet.

It seems to be fairly universally accepted that since they swapped presidents and signed his best mate he'd like to stay.

But I highly doubt he's offered to take a massive wage cut. They're no doubt trying to wiggle as much room in the books as possible.

If you are referring to Maddison, I’m not sure people are apposed in anyway to him having fun, in fact its a completely normal and deserved. I think people just question his character, as to what type of fun he is having in the public eye, with  having a pregnant girlfriend at home. I guess we don’t really know what goes on though.

Couldn’t give a fvck what Maddison does in his spare time not worth stressing over, only care how he plays

I tend to agree. However, he must be somewhat naive if he thinks making the papers for the wrong reasons is not going to have an adverse impact on his career. It also isn't the publicity the club will look favourably upon, I wouldn't have thought.
