The Barça, centered in giving exit to Coutinho to the Premier

The sale or transfer of Philippe Coutinho focuses a large part of the efforts of Barça's sports management . The Barça club is in need of a good operation, although in the case of the Brazilian other conditions are added, such as the 'overbooking' of strikers, the need to subtract a high chip and also get rid of some costly variables.

The efforts are being enormous, both by the entity and the footballer. Coutinho faces the final stretch of his knee injury, which has plagued him since the end of last year, to get ready for the start of the season, either with Barça or with another team. The player is sacrificing himself because the recovery is not proving easy. “Every day is a new battle, which demands my maximum. It is slow, it requires patience and dedication ”, he recognized months ago. On December 30, he injured the external meniscus of his left knee. After a second intervention in Brazil, his return to the pitch has been delayed.

In the club they consider him, in turn, a player of exceptional quality. The problem is that his purchase from Liverpool represented a significant load of variables that at the Camp Nou they do not want and cannot pay. To the fixed 120 million paid to the English in January 2018, Barça assumed another 40 for objectives. He already dropped another 5 to reach 25 games and 10 to qualify for the Champions League in the first two years. If he stays for another season - he has a contract until 2023 -, Barça should pay 20 more 'kilos' if Coutinho , who to date has 90 games, reaches 100 games and another 5 in the event of winning the Champions League, which is one of its great objectives. In a stage of recision, with forced signings 'low cost' as a consequence of the pandemic, the club cannot sustain the continuity of a player with one of the highest chips in the dressing room, of about 10 million, as published.

Coutinho is one of the great assets of the Catalans in this 'exit operation'. You have to make money and the Brazilian continues to have a poster in the Premier League . Three teams have positioned themselves to sign him or at least have given signs that they would be willing to sign him: Leicester, Everton and also Arsenal . The newspaper 'The Sun' even published on the cover that Everton wanted to make him the benchmark of the 'toffee' group and that they would even be looking for a house in Liverpool to facilitate the operation. At Barça they still think that the Premier is the best option they have, much more than Serie A

So basically they're saying "sorry guys but we have a crocked player and we can't pay for him so please take him off of our hands for a lot of money for a season, kind regards, barcalona"

Barcelona are an absolute joke with this whole transfer. He was never worth the money they paid for him, which, in turn, paved the way for the ridiculous Neymar transfer - also not worth the money and they've completely ruined the finances for everyone. I hope he stays there and they have to pay up.

So it's between us and Everton as I doubt Arsenal would spend that kind of money.  Brendan clearly like him , So a year loan with an option to buy seems the most likely

thing to do. Or it could be conditional on Maddison leaving as they both like the 10 role.

Why would you doubt that?

Arsenal are well known on wasting tonnes on wages/huge fees, even for ageing players (see Willian for example).

It would be no problem for them if they really wanted to.

I know they have the ability to compete with us but they won't, Because since Wenger left they've become a yellow pack club.

Under the new Owners their whole Philosophy has changed.

So are you writing off Justin and Riccardo as well?

Bit of an OTT take, but he's right. A bad knee injury can ruin a career. Yes, many will recover, but many will also never be the same player again. For every positive injury recovery, there's a Matty James level of injury issues.

Not really, I just think writing a player off because of one knee injury is a bit premature, like Riccy and Justin he has no history of knee injuries.

No. Where did I say that? Justin and Ricardo are OUR players. It is our obligation to get them as fit as possible. We have no such obligation to take on other team's crocks, especially ones on a massive wage.

Didn't say you did, just following your logic.

Coutinho isn't massively injury prone, and I trust the club to make the right decision on his fitness, if we are even in for him.
