Nope. I'm a Leicester lad, just ended up here!

Fair enough. I just know it well and have friends that are from the same area, Weedon, Harpole etc. I was a regular in Great Brington Coaching Inn at one point.

Anyway I've derailed the topic. Whoops.

I'm just across the A4500 from Harpole, the kids have friends at school who live there.

Love those little villages.

I tell everyone I'm a city boy, from big bad Leicester, but don't think I could go back to living somewhere like that again!

Why bother wasting water?

Just add a few ice cubes to the bin juice at the bottom and have a splash about.

To be fair it's a devastating combination.

Roll on tomorrow…

The forecast for this evening has changed for Leicester. The 10 degree drop between 6pm and 9pm seems to have been greatly reduced and the rain is now nowhere to be seen!

Some very worrying pictures on the news. Astonishing temperatures. One of our reasons for leaving NI was the cold, wet, miserable weather - that was just the summer. 17c and raining where we used to live. I didn't expect this weather though.

Apart from briefly taking the dog in the garden a few times, we've just holed up in the kitchen with a fan and all the blinds and windows closed. The SE facing conservatory is a massive no-go zone!

Can't wait for this rain later. Hopefully it does actually arrive...

And looking forward to a more comfortable night sleep if those are the temps...

Don’t think it’s going to happen. Hope I’m wrong but a front is passing over now and there’s nothing from it. I think it’s so hot that the rains not making it to ground level.

Heard on the radio today an Insulate Britain guy arguing with an Environmental professor. The prof was saying that we can take steps to limit climate change within a generation but it needs action. The protestor was having none of it.

"You're a liar. Climate change can't be stopped and you're not prepared for it. I'm a builder and I see it every day".

This is why people don't get onboard with them.

It's quite horrific in seeing the wildfires, even in this country.

Those denying that this isn't down to global warming are definitely misled.

Christ. Never seen wildfires like that before in the UK. Hope it causes a few of the "pfftt, it won't be that hot, it was hotter in 1976, bunch of snowflakes" types to actually sit up and take notice. Sadly forests and grasslands blazing out of control in the heat is going to become a regular occurrence.
