I don't think there was ever much to this.  But just to play Devil's advocate, in addition to the money (which speaks very loudly) a guy like Maddison might find the idea of going to a struggling big club and being "the man" appealing.  If he goes to Arsenal and leads a turnaround he's a God.

Again - don't see him leaving this window and never did.  But don't discount the appeal - it's not that hard to understand.

I know a lot of people on here have slagged Arsenal off recently but to be fair to them they are top of the table at the moment

That's a stretch, even for FT, but whatever gets you through the night.

That picure on the right is surely Captain Black, from the 1960s/70s series, Captain Scarlet.

Alright, alright, I know I'm old!

Yes, it’s a picture of the human controlled by The Mysterons, from Mars. The other is, indeed, Captain Black, the nemesis of Captain Scarlet.  Well remembered 👍😛😁

How do we fix him is the real question. He is a really bony footballer and being our main attacking midfielder he is going to be targeted by the opposition's Hamza. If he was quicker he could evade the rough stuff but he isn't and never will be. That's why I,ve said he should just put the weight on anyhow , he doesn't have the type of physique to build muscle.Youri is not exactly lean but that extra padding makes him virtually bombproof. If he stays like he is, he could have a short career.

He got clattered early on again yesterday, Referees are too lenient these days, skilful players like Maddison are continually fouled but the Refs just award free kicks around the half way line, an early warning or booking would hopefully stop this, unfortunately Maddison will never play all the games as he’s always nursing some injury…

He'll always be clattered for a few reasons, he's slow and always needs too many touches on the ball so both of them combined you're going to be closed down, then he tries to twist his way out of trouble which throughout the game will be affecting his hip injury.

Hopefully just a knock rather than his hip issue being aggravated. he's looked in good shape pre season and would be a big blow if his hip problem has started to flare up already.

Spot on. He needs to develop his bum.

I agree, his not physically where he should be, and he is paying a price for it…. He is clearly struggling with his hip, and possibly has been doing for a while. I don’t think he was over it for most of last season. But like you’ve just said, it could ultimately end his career.

I didn’t go to the game yesterday, Rogers said he took a knock to his back. What makes you think he struggling with his hip, ive seen every other game so far this season and I thought he looked to be moving more freely.

He was grabbing his hip a fair bit, especially after he took a hit. It’s all in the same area, he’s probably got some muscular weakness as a result of his hip injury.
