The cynic in me thinks that this injury is a ploy to lower his value to make an Arsenal transfer easier, like with Chilwell and Chelsea. Perhaps I need help

After the ridiculous backpack stunt, I doubt anything is off the table.

He seemed to be ok walking to his car after the game and I very much doubt if you have a chronic hip or back problem that a Lamborghini is the most sensible vehicle of choice.

Personally I think at the moment too much focus is on brand Madders rather than his football with Leicester, still think we have decided now is the time to cash in

Hope so!

Take the money from Arsenal and strengthen the team, he really won't be missed that much.

His insta story shows him having lunch with the one and only Kingy and their kids. Hopefully getting the best advice.

Wonder where that was, looked lovely :giggle:

When Maddison is healthy & playing his game he is top drawer & Leicester can't afford to lose players of his quality.

English players are at a premium these days & Madders is definitely premium.

He'll always be clattered for a few reasons, he's slow and always needs too many touches on the ball so both of them combined you're going to be closed down, then he tries to twist his way out of trouble which throughout the game will be affecting his hip injury.

I don’t think he’s slow and he doesn’t ‘need’ too many touches.

It’s his style of play. He likes it when opposition players get tight and turn away from them leaving them behind.

He does seem to take too many touches but that isn’t out of necessity. He plays that way and often misses the opportunity of an early ball forward by overplaying.

Both of these attributes contribute to him drawing fouls and potentially picking up knocks.

This is what frustrates me with Madders. I know people will laugh, but at least Perez will try and play one touch pass and move football.

Trouble with madders is all lovely packaging not much substance on his good days which not too many ( why Rodgers not defending or quashing move rumours as such ?) but trouble is he has a few too many awful days, he comes across as he thinks he’s the next David Beckham but he’s nowhere near as good !

A part of me thinks we should keep him and sort out his attitude & make his cockiness work for him more time on the pitch the other thinks sell him on and invest in the team trouble is will this be one that bites us on the Arse if he goes now?

Arsenal are desperate!..

Strike while the iron is hot.

In KDH we've got a great option to fit into the team, (moving Youri further forward).

Maddison needs to grow up and show some maturity!

... take Arsenal's money and move him on.

There's no doubt that if Madders is fit then he's one of the first names on the team sheet. He arguably our most naturally talented player. This hip issue is a real worry though, he looked uncomfortable on Saturday and you'd have hoped that the summer break would have sorted it but it looks like it hasn't. That's really concerning.

a) KDH is totally unproven at this level, however promising he looks.

b) why move your best player from his best position?

c) All Maddison needs to do is not be injured.

I don't even think he would pass a medical. If you're dealing with £70 odd million or whatever he'd go for, surely there can be no room for doubt over a long term injury.

Its not quite that simple though is it? (Could have been whooshed here)

Clearly rest is not suficient, so surgery, maybe even initially exploratively, could well be required.

Guess he had a jab at half time on Saturday to allow him to continue?

Imagine the scenes….

BR with the Physio “James, that Lamborghini is doing your hip no good son so we recommend you drive something more practical, have you considered a Skoda?”

You joke but it's a reason why so many pros drive range rovers, way better for their hips and back. It's often what they'll be recommended to do as well as having custom made beds.

This for me is why I can't quite understand the desire from Arsenal fans to get him in. He's a luxury we can afford to have because of the work rate and effort around him. If he's off it we usually have a number of players who can still create something and drag him through the game until he either gets that one chance or until he gets subbed. For me Maddison is the furthest thing to what Arsenal need right now and sums up exactly why they are in their current mess.
