Was a proper trophy lift too. All too often you see the usual suspects walking to pick it up as if it’s a paid for corporate business award, no emotion, no feeling and then disappear off down the tunnel. Kasper and the lads enjoyed that one, and so did I. Up the City 💙💙

George Floyd and what followed bought some protests debates and criticisms directed towards people and institutions in this Country which I and many think were unjust. The US has a problem, Kaepaniak taking the knee meant something, doing it in protest during the National Anthem, the UK just does not have those problems but some like BLM would like to divide and cause trouble saying those problems exist. The UK has come so far but last summers protests and what's happening in the media just causes divisions imo. I think that's what many think, and they see what the players are doing is part of that, I don't think they're racists, just not a fan of the movement which stemmed following George Floyd.

Hang on, are you saying the UK doesn't have a racism problem?

I love when we win trophies!! More please boys.

also, if you have so much energy to discuss the knee or more so, why it shouldn’t be taken, please tell those in favour what should be done instead to raise awareness. Otherwise, shut up, sit down and just enjoy the highlights.

🏆 🏆 🏆 one more this year please boys!! Kasper is getting use to it!!

”Can you sit down please?”

“Oi, sit down!”

“SIT DOWN! SIT DOWN YOU ****ING ****!”

Never seen passion like it

Exactly what happened the last time I went to the Community Shield, and the knob complaining ended up throwing a bottle of water over the folks in front which resulted in a full fist-fight. He was the only one who wanted to sit in a full section of standing supporters, when there were empty seats on the front rows he could have taken.

I missed Vardy's goal in the ensuing ruckus. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same person who was causing grief. Was it a speccy middle-aged bloke with Ned Flanders hair and a habit of not being able to get through a sentence without swearing?

Still haven't forgiven whoever it was for ruining what was at the time my only trip to Wembley to cheer on the Foxes. Ended up having more fun in the 5-4 game while Spurs were squatting there.

The players have repeatedly said that them taking the knee is not associated with the BLM movement.  It was initially but once it was pointed out to them that BLM is political, they have distanced them taking the knee from BLM. Clearly you don’t believe them - that’s your prerogative but it leaves you standing with some pretty unsavoury people.

Yeah, that was confirmed by an independent enquiry. Just because racism exists, it doesn't mean the Country has a problem with racism, name me other Countries that are racist free, that are a utopia of multiculturalism? They all have issues, but good work has been done in the UK in the past 20 years

Loads of racism in my Indian family as I’m sure there is in all extended families. Taking the knee seems to of had its time, causes more riffs. Now the black power salute is quit cool

love how Maddison actually goes in for the pic lol brill

He's a good lad really.

I was half expecting that lad to rip off his Leicester shirt to reveal that he was actually a 45 year old bloke from Arsenal Fan TV though.

I’m not usually one to bother with other teams forums. But I’ve just had a quick look on blue moon and this complete and utter bollocks caught my attention. Man City fans are the first to go on about how many they used to bring in at home and take away when they were in the second tier (not all that long ago I’ll add).

Never forget where you ****ing came from. Too right we celebrated it. I’d have been appalled if we didn’t and I’d be appalled if we were a regular champions league side and didn’t either.

Really enjoyed the game and the celebrations, especially seeing Top with the shield at the end!

Does anyone know if the guy who fell on the stairs in block 131/132 is OK? He looked in a bad way and the medics took an age to arrive!

Didn’t expect to see people fighting in the street right outside the stadium afterwards!

I don't think we went particularly over-the-top anyway, did we? The celebrations were fun, but definitely more subdued than the FA Cup triumph a few months back. I think the scale of celebration was perfectly appropriate when we went into the game as underdogs and now start the season with two new trophies in the cabinet. :scarf:

Now if it had been, let's say, the AUDI Cup, they might have had a point.

Edit - You're not wrong though. I think a lot of the older Man City fans probably feel a great sense of discomfort at the entitlement of those who have grown up with the past 15 years of the club's history as all they know, and look back on the Maine Road days, or even as recently as the Sven era, as ancient history. I'd wager that the fan posting this is younger than 30.

My concern is that our fans start to grow fat on success in a similar way. As our League One - and even Championship - days become more and more of a speck in our rear view mirror, there's a danger that we too will forget the underdog spirit that our club's current success is built on, and have a very rude awakening if we do ever see ourselves regress to past levels. It's vital to stay grounded.

I think that if they want to take a moral stance, they could saying we're not going to play in the World Cup in Qatar, that would really show something we could all applaude.

I think the World has bigger problems than being worried about players virtue signalling. I want to see an end to all conflict, misery and hatred but taking the knee isn't going to do it.

Its just every player, in every team in the Premier League reminding everyone there is no place for racism in the game, and they are all united in this ideal.

Absolutely buzzing, another trophy I've seen us win! Minus the League Two title that's everything for us isn't it!?

Time to conquer Europe....
