He’s clearly a very talented and experienced footballer but bringing in ANOTHER cm when we are desperate for a winger and a cb would seem a bit daft.

I reckon its some of the fans who have become desperate...and Not the collective 'we'....

How many successful clubs Europe have  2 wingers in their team, or set up most weeks with 2 wingers...

Some on this forum are blind when deciphing, the Days Team selection, the old team sheet method showing either madders, or a.nother, out on the wing,

Doesn't mean the Team will or has shown, they will Play on the wing...

Maddison as others,will occasionally find themselves in a Sweeping attack ,moving out to one of the flanks,  we have seen regularly over many seasons

Vardy,Nacho,Madders,Tielemans,Perez even Ndidi out on the wing. even Barnes has moved into & across to both  inside forward positions..Ditto for Albrighton.

 

A Team sheet is for naming the team,  in todays football, the Bline sometimes Show Fback positions,

But then see at least one Play in a Wback position,

Why we even Play occasionally with 3 CBs..!!   

This seeming desperation or urge to misread teamsheets & keep their Minds bogged down to "The old" ways of Reading a teamsheet, is preventing them Opening

their Minds to recognising the flexability in modern team selection & Set ups...

If Rodgers/ any manager Decides on either compromises or Definite descisions not to chase covering every single position, I welcome that,  more than

pre-guessing where our team might be " desperate"

A few seasons ago, we were Short in the CB department,that hung around that desperation stage.Then we found ourselves Short on decent Quality forward,

to Cover or partner Vardy...But I dont see that RW position as desperate..

Also knowing our full Bline contingent by November,  I Dont see any need to push for adding an expensive CB...If we find or push an Academy-Player ( Nelson)

Forward is far more exciting , pragmatic even prudent..Or find either a 'Free' ,Loan, or £2-4 Mill. player...

Though I do believe Soyuncu,  Amartey,  Benkovic, Bertrand, Evans possible  Early or November return, is enough to actually support & encourage.

Chasing, or  OTT disecting weaknesses is not in my profile, I prefer to See players on our Books to be tested & shown belief, & not panicking at every turn..

 

And as many others have recognised, we are not to compare with the Top 4,  who have just a larger spectrum of finances & other rescources,

than we will ever  have.  I am just damn Happy Watching my Club buy players, that allow us now firstly to compete in the Top 6 levels, Plus go that Step higher even Challenge that Bias & believed entitled rights of the Top 4...Which in my opinion they have earned...

The only way this makes sense if is A) we sell hamza and choudhury this transfer window and strengthen that position with class or B) without getting a RW we intend to saturate that area or the pitch with either RP, Albrighton, Perez and KDH (by shifting him as a left footed player further ahead of soumare and to the right and a similar position to what Maddison played last year).

 

Either way I'd take him but only if Choudhury and Mendy were leaving but I can't see it happening.
