Disappointed in Club/ Europa League Ticket Fiasco

The Club is Asking Season Ticket holders to commit to buying 3 tickets for the Europa League group games before a draw has even been made, this is a scandal 

 

it’s holding us to ransom, the club is not allowing us to go game by game they are charging us a small fortune to sit in seats we have paid for already and making us pay for 3 games up front some of whom we can’t attend and can’t pass on the tickets owing to the Covid regulations 

 

it’s very badly thought out by the club and it’s putting a huge amount of pressure on people

There is a resale system being trial this season were you can list ticket for resale, which you can access by the website for your season ticket you can select if you can't attend the next match and it is put up for resale. I assume you can use this on these too. 

 

Personally thought they were well priced and will be cheaper then individual match tickets 

 

Pretty sure they will offer a option to buy tickets for individual matches, very much doubt everyone will buy the 3 match deal.

Did exactly the same for the Champions League if I remember right, but for a lot more money. £120!

 

£23 each for 3 European games (for me) is decent value.

 

Whoever we get drawn against I’d have gone to, so personally I’m not that bothered about not knowing who we are playing.

Whereas personally for me i will be going to all 3 games and priced at £23.33 per game (if i read it right) i do not think that is a bad price, regardless of who we play. 

 

This wont please everyone, but i would hazard a guess that most STH will be attending all 3 home games and this is by far the easiest way for the club to do it.

I'm not sure if the resale scheme is going to work for this. I think the system only allows the release of the ticket once the fixture has sold out. Don't quote me on that but I'm not sure these group stage matches will be a full house.

They're creating a system to allow the use of their resale tickets system. If you buy the package and can't attend one, then there's the option to resell your ticket through the club. 

At £23 (ish) per seat I think that's pretty great value to watch European football. 

 

And regarding paying for seats you've already paid for, I don't think ST's have included cup games for at least a decade, it's not exactly a new thing.

The same arrangements applied for the Champions League group games, Cup matches are never included in ST prices. 

Obviously it's awkward committing before the match dates are known but I think the prices are very reasonable.

You could do it for Wolves before the match had sold out.

 

I suppose it doesn't guarantee it will be resold if there is no one interested in someone buying it.

23 quid per game to watch your team in Europe. You can resell your ticket too 

 

Cup games are always separate, why should this be any different? The club have associated costs for putting on the games.

 

Why does it matter who we're playing? Leicester are playing in Europe - that's all that matters.

Fans do not have to commit and can be fairly well assured that the games will not sell out and can pick tickets up match

by match. Myself a season ticket holder will hold back

Yes, can't blame them for doing this, I think it's not wrong. Personally, I cannot attend Matchday 3 as it stands but I will still buy the 3 game package with the chance I may only go to 2 games. Either a mate has it (very likely) or I sell it on.

 

If you cannot commit to the 3 game package, not a big deal (unless you are bothered about having the same seat). There will be priority sales for remaining tickets on a match by match basis to STH's.

 

Someone mentioned that they do not think all games will sell out. I would say they certainly will but everyone will get a good chance of buying tickets. One or two may even hit some sort of general sale.

My seat on an individual basis is £53 for a cat A fixture and £46 for a Cat B fixture.

 

Paying £80 for 3 works out at £26 so its a decent price.

You bought a season ticket for 19 PL games a season. So no, you have not 'already paid for' your seat at a Europa league game.

 

£70 for 3 games is about as good a price as you can expect, so there's not much to complain about there. We'll probably have more expensive single-game tickets for the league cup this season against championship sides... Part of the discount will be because you're buying 'in bulk' with 3 tickets at once - which isn't a bad trade-off when most fans will want to attend all three games anyway.

 

The only gripe is that the fixture dates aren't confirmed yet as we don't know which games will be home and away. But really, that's no different to when you bought your season ticket before the fixtures were released (and well before TV schedules moved them again). If anything, there's a bit more security in those dates as you know each game will be on one of two Thursday nights.

 

As others have said; the club is supposedly trialling out an official ticket return/resale scheme this year so if you buy it and then can't attend you'll have the option of getting money back for it. Covid regulations may prevent you passing on the ticket unofficially, but if you go through the club then it shouldn't be an issue at all.

And the price is fine, how can anyone expect it to be included in their season ticket

Good advance notice of the process, good pricing, can't really argue with it. Also, the opposition are all much of a muchness in the group stage, doesn't make a difference if we play FC ryanair or easyjet town

And technically a reduced cost season ticket for this season given everyone would have paid £70 to retain it last year. The club could have easily said retain it at this price and then pay full price this season.

There’s always gonna be someone that moans. Likelihood is in the groups you’ll have one decent team, one average team and a minnow. If you’re not happy about it, don’t go. It’s that simple.

There's a lot of people on here (me included at times) that are quick to bash the ticket office/ticketing department, and most of the time it is warranted.

 

This, however, is not one of them. £70 (in my case) is excellent value for 3 European games. As others have said, we're there to watch the City, regardless of opposition.
