First time I can recall a goal being scored where the reaction was 50/25/25 - celebration/laughter/disbelief

Naa we used to do this a lot, Mark De Vries thunderbastard springs to mind.

I mean, its the same through any age group in football.

Strikers miss chances & its forgotten, defenders / goalkeepers make mistakes & its remembered as being the reason a game is lost.

Thats about the only difference between Daka & Danny Ward. Both are equal as a parody to professional football.

Im just past giving people a free pass for being a 'nice guy'. He's fvcking woeful.

But at least he puts a shift in, which is more than you can say for Ayew or Carranza. Yes, he's very limited, but of the 3 strikers, we tend to do better as a team when he plays. He also get's into the box, again something the other two fail to do.

No.  That doesn't need any work.

It needs screwing up, setting on fire and stamping on.

Lollll you may be right but I didn’t sleep well last night so I blame that lol

No he doesn’t.

He’s very likeable and I’d love him to do well but he’s been a total failure here over a number of years.

Working hard is the minimum I’d expect of someone picking up the wages he is (insert comments around other players picking up £ and not working hard)

Agree it’s the bare minimum, but direct that vitriol (in the case of others, not specifically you) towards those dossers. Not Daka. Like I said, around where I sit he gets the most of the mockery which isn’t justified because there’s definitely others that deserve that more.

We play the ball to Daka's feet,  expecting him to hold it up. That's not his game, he has neither the strength nor ability. Nonetheless he gives his all no matter how unsuccessful he is. It's obvious he needs a big striker alongside him to rough up the CBs, allowing him space and time. He'll never be successful in a lone striker role.

Yup at his previous club he scored a lot from tap-ins

Call themselves team mates! It was like that in the stands too!

I’m not sure he’ll be successful in any role despite the fact that we’ve somehow contrived to be in a position where he’s our best striker. We’re hardly going to build a team around such a limited player.

The real solution is buying someone better who, by definition, would also be better than Ayew and Carranza. Until we do we need to get behind him as he’s the best we’ve got.

The style of play doesn’t suit him at all. That’s on Marti for playing this turgid brand of clueless football.  After the first 10 fouls and losing the ball, a manager with half an idea would change it up.

Get rid of the JV slow pass in the middle and get Daka facing forwards all the time.  He should always be ready to drift into space after JJ, Mav, Fats and hopefully Monga do the heavy lifting.

And we need to create a few chances to see if he’s any good, for seasons now with this football we don’t get up the pitch!

I’ve always had a soft spot for Patson and I’m delighted he finally scored. If any of our fans are honestly pissed off that he scored then they need to re-evaluate some stuff.

Whilst i dont like our play out the back through JV, Patson being sh1te for years isnt Marti's fault.

Correct. I’m no fan of Daka but it also doesn’t help not even trying to play to his limited abilities. It’s more a comment on Marti trying the same thing over and over when it doesn’t work.
