I really liked him, based on nothing more than a hunch. He had nice, awkward jink to throw off opponents and could retain  possession in awkward areas. 

 

The biggest criticism I can aim.at him.is that he seemed to go awol in games. 

 

The manager never fancied him and we have to accept that. He stank of a Rudkin signing whereas, say, Perez stinks of Rodgers.

Brendan spent near on £50m on Praet and Perez - just think what we could have done with that amount in terms of bringing in a decent right winger

Bit harsh. Without any hyperbole, I consider Silva as the worst pound for pound signing we ever made. 

 

Had all the strength of your average 13 year old boy and the pace of most 40 year old men. Not a great combo.

Big loss. The only modern footballer who knew how to dress. Always looked cool as **** rocking up to training.

 

Not a huge loss playing wise. He's a good player but never really did much to suggest he should start regularly IMHO.

I think it's worth saying here that he's never once said he's unhappy at the club and there are no strong rumours of a bust-up.

 

It irks me slightly that people assume that this might be the result of some petty row - of course it COULD be, but maybe we signed a player with a profile and he never quite fit. It's impossible to get every signing right.

I said early last season that he'd be off this Summer and so it's come to pass.  I could see that he just didn't fit our style and wondered why we ever signed him.

Hard to imagine he was Brendan's pick and yet he hardly gave him a fair chance to shine.

 

Still it's in the past now and we move on. That's Football for you.

Good vision, engine, tidy technique but not great enough at anything in particular to nail down and retain a spot. 
 

You could say the same for a few others, however the likes of KDH and Hamza offer home grown status, so at least contribute from a backup factor from that point of view. 
 

He is / was an asset that we’ve benefitted from getting off the books.

99% of the time I have agreed with what Brendan has done with the squad, but two things will always be that Twilight Zone WTF is going on moment.

 

Firstly, his persistence with Ayoze. Even playing Ayoze up front when Vards was off injured for a few games. Bringing Kelechi in after was the right move as history proved. The second one is his use of Praet. To me this guy has talent and is a very decent back-up to Madders. He should have got more game time when Madders was injured IMO. Its a shame Brendan doesn't rate him.

Silva must be the worse signing in football, can not begin to imagine how anyone thought he was suitable for the premier league

Can you image how he must of felt, sitting on the bench week after week and watching Perez starting!!.. The ultimate insult.

Also watching Maddison couldn't have been easy for him either!!

Rodgers certainly knows how to twist the knife into a player he doesn't like!!

I liked him a lot. I'm not entirely sure what he did wrong. Him not playing started me doubting Rodgers a bit if I'm honest. Hope he does well.

Always liked him, but he was always behind our main 3 in terms of quality. KDH emergence and Soumare set him back further obviously.

 

Just need Madders to find some fitness and form for this to really make sense

With Soumaré joining, something had to give. Personally I would rather have seen Choudhury, Perez or Mendy leave before Praet.

He's another one in the Iborra and Dragovic group of players who were quite good but mysteriously became much, much better when they didn't play. You get some people banging on about how he'd get into pretty much any team in Europe and we'd have strolled into the Champions League if only we'd used him more, which does make it a little surprising that he's ended up at a team who've finished 16th and 17th in Serie A the last two seasons.

 

I'd have liked him to get a bit more game time and the squad would be better with him in it but he, probably quite rightly, thinks he's too good to be a backup option and we, probably quite rightly, don't think he's good enough to start. So it goes.

It’s a strange one with Praet, obviously has ability and can argue didn’t get as much opportunity as others to showcase it. Simultaneously has never jumped out as a why isn’t he playing every week sort of player to me either. If he’s as good as some feel, I can’t help but think that he’d have gone to a higher level side than Torino :dunno:. Wish him all the best

I hope Tielemans is happy. He seems to like Praet. I really hope Brendan's ego isn't going to **** us up. (edit) But watching that he may be right.
