One of Leicestershire’s best known acting exports looks set to become the next James Bond - that’s if bookmakers are to be believed.

Tom Hopper, who was born in Coalville, is now the bookies’ odds on favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as 007 after a flurry of bets were placed in his direction last week.

The rise in bets have seen Tom’s odds dramatically slashed, meaning the Leicestershire star is now ahead of the likes of Bridgerton’s Rege-Jean Page and Venom’s Tom Hardy.

I suppose we need to come up with some names for the films? My daughter suggested "Gold sixth finger".

😂😂 That's crazy, I knew him growing up as my cousin was best mates with his older brother Ben, used to drag him down to Thringstone playing field to make up the numbers playing football.

Never even knew he became an actor until now

I always though Noel Clarke would have made a brilliant James Bond, until it came out that he's (allegedly) a bit of a gropey sex predator.

Good practice for being Bond then.
