Klopp doesn't even play the reserves.

He plays some youth teamers with reserves.

Could have been much worse draw

This guy will not want to play anywhere near full strength given they have high energy Leeds a few days later. Plus the semi finals are two legs over AFCON. I’m backing us to go through here.

Don't understand some of the pessimism here. Given the way they usually treat this competition this is a better draw than West Ham, Spurs and Chelsea without a doubt.

Even a draw like Sunderland would have been dodgy for us if we played a similar team to the one against Warsaw. I don't mind this at all.

With us being in Liverpool a few days before it was inevitable. Do you think we will take the full allocation? Still need to tick anfield off the list and will have no chance in the league game.

The league game is midweek in Feb, you'll have a good chance.

Knowing the club, they'll prob take the minimum allocation. Would be good to take 5,000 to Anfield though.

Probably because we haven't beat them at Anfield for 20+ years.

Sunderland is so far clear of literally every other draw so there's no way it'll happen.

Looking at our fixture list around that game we're bound to get Liverpool away.

Disgusting yet entirely obvious draw. Liverpool will rest a lot of the big hitters but we will as well.

Knew Arsenal would get Sunderland as well. Their cup draw luck is back.

They've got Leeds H after this game, so not a difficult game. I think Klopp will make changes for this, as he always does, but with both Manchester clubs out he could also see it as a competition to really go for now.

Also play Spurs Sunday afternoon before. He is def concentrating on the league so will rest players against us.

When we played Everton 2 seasons ago we played a pretty strong team. Rodgers is usually good at taking it serious at the business end. And he might think this is our best shot at getting European football.

The fixture list this time is far harsher though. With that Everton game we had no Europe, and no Premier League midweek game the week before either. The scheduling this time is going to virtually guarantee a round of reserve sides again.

I just simply don't think we've got the squad for it, even now.

I knew Arsenal would draw Sunderland. Their luck is back. Think they're actually not a bad bet to win the whole thing as they've got less distractions than the others.

Can see this cup going in the next couple of years to be honest. I don't think the cheapning of it with embarrassing draws like that one earlier is an accident.

Our fixtures around it are a lot worse than theirs - though I do wonder if by then we'll have hit a point where we've accepted the league campaign is a bit of a damp squib. I actually wouldn't moan if we went for this over say the Everton game.

We must have all been very bad boys and girls to get this for Christmas . Ffs, Santa!
