Ref should have given the free kick and the red if he thought it was and then check the offside. By giving the offside VAR can’t do a lot.

From the replay, but I mean don't they only pull it back if they believe it should have been clear and obvious from the referees view, not from the footage? 

 

Totally agree it should have been a red, just playing devil's advocate.

Which is ironic because VAR made it clear and obvious. 

 

If this was a blockbuster 4pm game it would've been a red. Unfortunately we're not important enough and it'll be brushed under the carpet

Can only give it if he gives the red card, I think it's just about not a red because Vardy doesn't have control of the ball so therefore not a clear goalscoring opportunity.
