IMHO Dyche has to be the Number one name in the frame to replace Brendan, if he goes.

1) Knows the league very well.  This is a massive difference to the likes of signing a Puel.

2) Lives here (obviously) so no settling into the culture/country required.  In fact he lives in the Kettering area.

3) Seems to eek out every sinew of ability from players who would generally be considered poor/average for the Premier League.

4) Motivation is never in doubt with his team, ever.

5) His teams are always very well organised/drilled and despite the blinkered critics, can play good football.  You have to remember the players he has to work with.

6) Despite the general trend of buying British/Irish players (cost related), has proven he's able to help a relatively unknown overseas player quickly flourish in the Premier League (Cornet)

I know there is a stigma against the likes of Dyche, be it he's British, Managing a team like Burnley, but he's surely proven he's got enough genuine qualities that with better players, could be successful.

....this league is worth a fortune, either they are paying too much in wages or their club is severely mismanaged!!!

Whilst that is true, they have still been competing against clubs with the TV revenue AND who are backed by billionaire owners. So yes, financially they are still greatly outmuscled.

Dyche has hated us since we won the championship title. As we 'bought' the title in his view. Don't think he is type of manager our club is looking for.

I would rather have Dyche than Lampard or Potter.

Anyone think Mancini would be attainable?

Say Italy lose in the playoffs and they get rid of him (or he resigns). Would he come here? I'd like to think he has a soft spot for us still since we gave him the chance to play in the Premier League

No, I think he has enough pedigree to be of interest to bigger clubs.

I genuinely don’t think there’s a manager out there that is easily attainable and can take us to the next level.

Rodgers leaving would be a disaster for us, and I think will see us stagnate for a while.

None of Potter, Frank, Dyche or Lampard would take us to where we want to be.

This just seems like you're only aware of what's happening in England, which explains why you are worried. Potter seems like a Rodgers replica, so I can't see much changing if he was to come in, we'd see a lift initially then it'd be interesting to see if we would lull after a while. Lampard has only underachieved so far, he would be awful. Dyche is unproven at a club with expecations at this level.

I'm gonna shock you now though, there are literally thousands of professional managers out there and I'd go as far to say that there are probably managers as good, if not better than Rodgers out there that would be more than willing to come here. I'd even go as far in saying that we probably employ people who's job it is to discover and keep tabs on these managers.

I'm surprised more people don't have faith in the people running our club considering what they have delivered.

Most promoted clubs spend more than Burnley.

He has done a fantastic job of keeping them in the PL before this summer. Only Southampton and Palace had a lower net spend for the last five seasons.

The Burnley season ticket holder I speak to think he's a miracle worker.

Would I want him here? No, but you can't say he hasn't done an excellent job at Burnley, considering the resources at his disposal!

Potter, Frank and Dyche are hardly the only managers out there.

Would take him over Potter 100%. Not my #1 though

Exactly! The best comparison for Burnley is Norwich. Neither club has billionaire owners (I know Burnley have recently been taken over, but let's judge Dyche on his 8+ years there) and don't try and live outside their means. Considering this, Dyche has done a magnificent job. Pretty much every other newly promoted club spend more than Burnley. I know they are currently in the bottom three but if he is still their manager come the end of the season then I think they will stay up again and if not, does that devalue his achievements? I don't think so. Also worth mentioning that Burnley is smaller than Nuneaton. Remarkable how much they punch above their weight.

He definitely would, and he would change his tune too…. “I’ve always admired Leicester and their modest resources”

I find it remarkable how people are still so bitter towards him because of a throwaway comment he made after a 1-1 draw eight years ago when we were both competing at the top of the championship.

I think when people digest that point, then look at their crowds and let it sink in, you do have to appreciate both what Burnley are doing as a club, but also what Dyche has managed to do as their manager.

Its like Nuneaton Borough getting 20,000 every other week......

On reading all this Lampard stuff in the 'press' I'm left singularly unimpressed. Unless of course he could bring Mount and a few others to LC like BR is apparently destined to take at least 3 of our most important players to Manure. Of course though it doesn't work quite like that, there are feeder clubs and those with too much money to be feeder clubs. Clearly Lampard isn't that good a manager as within a few months of him leaving the same players went from meh to European Champions.

As far as I can tell, all the press reports are saying that Lampard would like to manage us. That's hardly surprising - why wouldn't he want to manage us? Unless I'm missing something, haven't read much about us wanting him, though...

Not really. I am not naive enough to not think there are other managers out there, but I think the clubs intention was to keep Rodgers here for the long run, I’m talking a proper stint like 10-15 years for example, to build season on season to get the club to an elite level over time, rather than chopping and changing managers every few seasons and then spunking millions in the transfer window because each one has a different approach and philosophy.

So the reason why I think it would be a disaster is the club probably won’t really know what to do next, they offered him a new contract because I think they genuinely see him as the man to take us forward, he goes and their plan goes up in flames. I’m aware they will probably have a business continuity plan if things were to go tits, but the fact we were after him even before Poohell’s stint here shows that he was the main man for them.

Rodgers going to United would be a huge mistake, the only reason United would want him is because he’s probably the only manager easily available for them who has achieved something over the last few seasons, and they know if they come knocking we stand little chance of keeping him because they will just offer up the compensation money straight away. Then give it two or three seasons and then Rodgers will be sacked for someone else.

Im hoping it is all nonsense, but I do genuinely fear for us if he leaves, things might not be great at the moment, but trying to find his replacement would be very tough in my opinion. He isn’t the best manager in the world, but his philosophy suits the club to a tee, he’s very much a media man, I think he’s probably one of the best man managers around and he is very much about building a squad of good characters and relevant characters. Can’t deny the last few seasons have been great, more great than bad, despite the tail off’s at the end of either season.

Like who?

No, your right!

No club more significant than us will be interested in a manager who won European Championship: 2020, Serie A x 3, Coppa Italia x 4, PL and FA Cup.

I will reiterate this point..Look at what they are trying to compete with...

The 'big six', no explanation needed.

Leicester: Billionaire owners

Everton: Billionaire owners

Wolves: Billionaire owners

Leeds: Billionaire owners

Southampton: Billionaire owners

Crystal Palace: Billionaire owners

Brighton: Billionaire owners

Aston Villa: Billionaire owners

West Ham: Billionaire owners

Newcastle: Billionaire owners (old regime included)

That leaves Brentford, Watford, Norwich and Burnley.

I don't think that you can convincingly argue that any of those three clubs have outperformed Burnley over the past five years, all things considered.
